I do actually. Messages more often but I think winks are great they save time and messing around. Both parties wink you can establish an interest rather than unsolicited messages. |

It says on our profile we don't look so don't reply to winks. Still the number of winks rise, just shows the people who are to lazy to read a profile. We have just deleted all the winks an hour ago but still they are starting to rise again |

I send them as a way of gauging an interest….but I’ve only ever had one wink me back!!
I like the feature but not many use it and prefer messaging….either way I tend not to get a reply to either haha |

Yes I do.
I'll either wink back inviting a message or I'll message directly. Depending on a number of things mostly if they have put enough information on their profile allowing me send a proper message and if I have time to do so. Otherwise I wink back reducing the chance I forget to respond later and leave the wink ignored.
If not interested, I thank and state so. |

I don't send winks, I think if a profile interests me enough to contact them a couple of minutes typing a message is an investment I'll make
If I receive a wink I normally send a message... I don't play winker tennis |

If I get a wink I reply with the message " Thanks for your wink " I rarely get a message in reply . I long ago ceased wondering why she/they winked in the first place. Not worth investing any more time in someone who did not invest time by sending a message in the first place. |

We very rarely reply to them but it will trigger us to look at your profile. Sometimes we wink back but with single guys we'd probably wait for a message |

"If I get them I use it as a way of starting conversation or at least trying to. Even if it’s just a thank you. But will more than always wink back x"
Always thought of the wink as an intro but didn’t realise there was so much hate attached to it |

Same. I rarely jump straight into messages unless their bio says it’s okay. I’m not looking to be blocked by everyone I find attractive haha |

Exactly! I thought random message to stranger = weirdo stalker type, wink = hello I like you and I would like to chat. Turns out message to stranger = ok, wink = weirdo stalker type! Who knew |

If I like them I'll wink back however I don't see the point 99% of the time it's never followed up with any kind of message.
Having said that we've had some good meets that started with a wink.

We like winks and we also wink at people , offcourse after reading the profiles . Making sure they don't have "No Asians" mentioned in their description.
The profile has to be well verified and genuine .
If we receive a wink then if we are interested then message them . |

"Do you reply to winks? I got no replies to my winks at all.
I never check mine
For those who don’t check them. How do you all prefer people contact you "
At a guess a well thought out message is best. Though that doesn't guarantee a reply, people reply if they're interested. |

I do send winks. Sometimes I get one returned in which case I'll then follow up with a message.
If I receive one not initiated by me I'll look at the profile and if I'm interested I'll wink back and message too. |

Some winks we reply to, usually by winking back and some we just delete.
We always try and answer a message though, especially if they take the time to write something longer than 3 words and have read our profile. |

"Not anymore, and we ask for messages not winks... Show how much people read profiles.
We used to reply, and usually the winker never replies to our message...
Wish they could be switched off "
I guess one does learn something everyday
I'm going to try & avoid sending winks unless I receive one first & hope fabs will show that I appreciate them posting thier pictures for use all to injoy |

I will try not to send winks unless I receive one first & just settle for sending a fab on their images to let them know that i appreciate ther images they posted for us all to enjoy |

Starting to wonder about winks, becoming pointless
Firstly we don’t send them out
Secondly if we respond back wink we would then expect a message, this very rarely happens
Thirdly we get winks from people Miles away so absolutely pointless
Instead we prefer straight to the point messages and messaging! No messing about you want to fuck or not |

Sometimes I’ll send a wink to see if I get one back, if I do I know they’re interested. Unless is says in their profile they don’t look at them.. if I get one back I’ll then message.. it’s a quick way of seeing it someone is interested without sending a message to get ignored |

Incredibly rarely. It's not necessarily that we don't fancy the people winking us. It's more we're not looking to arrange meets online with new people right now. Some people who wink us we totally would if we were looking or met them out or at a club. However when we like someone who winked us doesn't mean we've not taken note for the future. |

We'll reply to winks from profiles we like, either with a message or a wink back (depends on the profile).
It's a good way of gauging interest both ways, and I wish it was used more.
No matter how lovely your message may be, if you don't tick our _oxes it's never going to happen and time is valuable!
Think we're the rare exception on here that appreciates a quiet inbox
