I think the OP means that if people put in their age range on the profile then it helps anyone messaging know if they should or not
It's not a criticism of people who don't care about age, it's of people who do care about age but don't put it on their profile to stop unwanted messages
Ultimately I don't care, just thought I'd clear up that confusion

Personally, I think it’s simply some people miss the fact that you can add a preferred age range in your profile data I don’t believe it’s laziness I just don’t think people actually notice it there that’s just my opinion of course |

Just because that's the age range on their profile it doesn't mean they have to fuck everyone who asks.

because these people are not that bothered about the age of those they meet so by having 18-99 they are not filtering out anyone by age .

Because u may set your age preference for say 60 and someone who is 61 is perfect. So u miss out. So what do you do? Out 61 and someone who is 62 is perfect. Where do u draw the line? Has someone upset u lol |

I don’t understand are you suggesting for instance our age range is 35-55 We have to sleep with every person within that age range to stop being a time waster???

Cos I don’t want to limit myself due to age with the people that can contact. It’s unlikely I’ll meet people outside 15 years either side of me, but I don’t wanna stop people on the fringes contacting me. |

I can see that you’d be annoyed if someone said 18-99 and then said you’re too old, but perhaps they are looking for 70 year olds that look like someone else?
In a similar vein, I think it’s ridiculous that people put those silly legal warnings at the end of their profile. They are meaningless and just clog up the system.

It’s a personal thing my age limits are 50-99
I am not young myself as you can see don’t think it’s laziness saying 18-99 just a lot of women and gents like chatting to Broad spectrum of ages as one poster said if you don’t like it don’t engage |

I'm not sure why it's lazy. I'd say it's a choice not to exclude anyone purely based on their age. In my case, it's probably most likely I'd get along with and want to meet someone in their 30s or 40s, but why put it to some arbitrary range of, say, 30-49 just for the sake of it? It doesn't mean I'm looking to meet someone who is 99, but where do you draw the line? I probably wouldn't expressly search for someone in their 50s or 60s, but a few years ago had a great experience with a stunning woman at a club who I was 58. Why go out of my way to exclude meeting someone?
Likewise, I know people in the 18-25 age range who are probably more mature and interesting than some ten years older than them. Again it's less likely I'd meet someone from that group or that we'd have much in common, but why arbitrarily rule them out?
I take the "18-99" as a sign that the person has no particular age preference. |

I don't like to filter people out on arbitrary things like age. What I find sexy can vary day by day. Also some under 30s are in far worse shape than over 60s. |

all the years we were active swingers we never had an age range or a certain type we were looking for we took people at face value
we had some amazing times with the most diverse range of people and a few not so good one but thats part of the adventure |

I can see why people would have restrictions. However,there hve been profiles in the past that I've found very attractive and from the bio knew we'd get on... But i've been a few days or months out of their age range, which was frustrating as you then can't even message them. If it was 10 years difference fair enough but people don't change that much over a few months. Age shouldn't matter, it should come down to the individual. But I know women and couples get loads of messages so it's a quick way to whittle it down to your own preference. Us single men don't have that problem! |
