High heels in everyday life

Women wearing high heels im.every day life seems to be a dying thing. I saw a woman wearing louboutins in tesco yesterday and it's such an amazing sight but the number of women who wear them at work and in normal life is getting rarer. Even in clubs a lot of women wear trainers which I understand is for comfort but do you or your partners still wear them when they go to work/ out? X |

I've got the point now where I have a few...
Many I have trouble wearing.
And so many pairs that I love and my girlfriend is like 'OMG, those look so awesome (on Vinted) and I agree and buy them.
And now heels are becoming like something you collect and never wear.
I try to wear them out, but I'm unsteady and there's a lot of pain.

I've always struggled with walking in stiletto heels and as much as I love the look of them and there are so many pretty pairs, I don't enjoy the pain of wearing them or the various blisters/cuts from pressure and straps. I'm usually in flats but recently I have found some block heels that I will wear for a few hours but will still have flats with me to change into. |

I think you are right. Everyone got comfortable in lockdown and heels, even though not ever present before covid, have seen a reduced use! Where do you tend to wear your heels? X |

I’d love to wear heels but :
A - I can’t walk in them
B- they are painful
C- I sometimes think I resemble an elephant in a stilleto when I wear them
I do however think they fantastic on other people |

The problem is,high heels are terrible for your feet and posture. They're entirely for the benefit of men (they accentuate the legs, and make then look longer, abd push the bum and boobs out). It's not surprising that, given the option, women would prefer to wear something more comfortable and practical.
My 21yo daughter only ever wears them for formals and college balls. She never wears them daily, or to go out. She prefers trainers or walking boots. She has some platform boots, which she sometimes wears out at night, but that's the closest to it. Heels are just too uncomfortable and difficult to walk in for her. All her friends - with no exceptions - do something similar.
If I genuinely wanted to dress like a woman day to day, I should wear trainers, trackie bottoms or leggings, and a blouse or shirt - that's what 95% if the younger and middle-aged women in my area wear. |

Don’t know if the OP goes out in public dressed, but walking on pavement tarmac is an whole new ballgame to being indoors on carpet it’s something that I learned within half an hour of going out in public for the first time they look sexy but are so dangerous I keep to boots with thicker heels nowadays which are safer and more practical but saying that I still managed to fall over last night on the stairs of the pub and bashed my knee |

Yes! I thought I was the only one!
Got a few pairs of stilettos that all go to crap the minute I step on a hard surface.
The springiness between he heel and the toe is a real problem. |

High heals don't really work for Mrs Misfit. She looks hot in heels but I'd much prefer her to just do her and rock her Doc's or bare feet as she normally does. Plus she don't need heels, she's got enough sexy going on without the need for them. |

I'm trying to get back to heels but I work from home and don't go out much. Acquired 4 new pairs recently and well pleased.
Aldo ones felt like slippers btw. |

Love heels here, wear them in the house just to feel super sexy…
Trainers are great but nothing tige that little confidence boost than a towering pair of heels and knowing everyone is looking at how hot my legs look! |

I am the OP. Although I haven't been out in public for a while I have been out publicly in my heels. Most outdoor walking has been refined to walking from my car across car parks to venues I will admit and I completely get your point, it is a different ballgame and skillet but I didn't find too much difficulty and actually being on my feet most of the night in heels in clubs was less painful than I suspected but I 100% respect any men or women that wear heels however long they wish and especially on uneven ground x |

I love wearing and others wearing heels. I understand that they're often difficult to walk in, so compromise to them mostly being worn in the bedroom.
Out and about, given fewer heels around, I can appreciate a hot person wearing Birks, flip flops or those DM sandals. |

I agree here …. Since lockdown I seem to find heels that bit more uncomfortable. As a rule I will wear
2” heels if out shopping the day … palatable and can manage ok.
3-4” heels if out at night …. but do find tolerating these increasingly harder for a full night out, particularly if walking any distance.
5” heels - for a lovely night in… not tested this yet for soooo long… I wish!

As much as I love the look of them, I think people are waking up to the fact that they are simply not fucking worth it!
As well as being painful and uncomfortable, they fuck with your muscles, ankles, knees, hips and back in the long run, and quite literally the only benefit to wearing them is that they are "aesthetically pleasing".
I have "bedroom heels" that have never seen concrete but other than that, I tend to wear walking boots or trainers. |

Yeah I think you're right. I do know some that still love to wear them and don't find them to be of too much discomfort but believe more and more are sticking to bedroom heels x |

I have super high arches and have worn heels constantly since I was a teenager. I wear 4to6 inches around the house, to work, to nip to the shops, and pretty much any time I'm not sleeping, showering, or deciding what goes best with the evening's outfit. |

There's a business directly opposite us where the owner's 50-something blonde wife always wears a dress or skirt with heels - whenever she's wandering around on the pavement out front while talking on her phone, I often stand and admire the view... |

I think that’s true, but these thing are cyclical. When we met in the 90s stockings were common but heels low and sensible. Then heels got sexy high and popular but legs were bare.
Now white trainers and comfort are popular the good news is designer heels costing £500+ are £100 with little wear on Vinted. |

I used to wear stilettos every day to work. Even when I was very heavily pregnant.
My life changed now it's rare.
I do still love them but my feet no longer seem to agree |

I am 5ft7 bare foot so I tend not to want my heels out as I don’t like being to tall. As a trans woman in flats / boots I am about 5ft8ish which is not too bad to stand out height wise I find.
Also they kill your ankles / feet and I have bad knee so walking in them for too long is asking for trouble |

Me too right up to 9 months pregnant. Was always in heels at work. Now life is so chaotic I can't be bothered with heels on top of everything else. Mine are all displayed on a shelf where books might otherwise be. They're always a talking point. |

Anywhere really. There aren’t many places where one shouldn’t wear them in my opinion. |

I can’t walk very well in short heels.
If I’m wearing heels, it’s at least 4”. My preference is 5” but I do have 6” heels too.

Ms red has 161 pairs of heels at the last count. For evenings out and fun/kink. But day time it’s trainers, boots or kitten heels at best.
Adore seeing heels in the day, but it’s a rare treat these days. |

Same with us, Mrs has a fair collection of irregular choice shoes and some “stripper” heels that are just for nights out.
Does look very sexy in suspenders and doc martens or converse too |

I still wear a high heel but not for walking in. From the house to the car, from the car to the venue. If I was to have to walk on rickety pavements I would put on My ballerina pumps that I have in My bag. Then put My heels back on outside. Also cannot afford to ruin a good pair of designer heels on pavements. |

What a fab idea xx …never thought of them. I always resist taking my heels off at the end of the night as I don’t want to trash expensive FF stockings … good call, thank you xxx

On one of the very rare occasions when a couple visited my place (when my wife was away), the wife was wearing heels on arrival, and had kept them on throughout - when it came time for her to get dressed to leave, however, she removed them and produced a pair of 'flats' from her handbag... |

We love heels and C will always wear heels and stockings for any meets or club visits. It’s very sexy and a shame it’s not seen much in public. Maybe it has a more sexual/kink perception nowadays meaning it doesn’t feel the same to wear them in public?? |

I still wear heels on a night out but not stilettos, they are fucking torture and I am too fat to trust them or walk in them, after not doing so for such a long time... I have good legs so don't need them to make them look better |

I only really wear heels in a club. I’d love to wear them out more, but they hurt my feet too much. Plus I’m 6ft tall in my bare feet and don’t always want to tower over everyone. Never wear heels for work. |

They are head turners.
