Swinging and religious beliefs: a no-go area?

This doesn’t come up often. I guess because most religions would not approve of swinging in any form. But it occurred to us that some swingers do probably have beliefs that they somehow fit. Or some would probably say they are spiritual but not religious (a category on dating profiles).

We come across some here very often.

They prefer cut cocks, bj with condom, they dont lick pussy .

Its all connected to religious practices somehow but they don't admit it .

I think nearly everyone can make their beliefs fit their actions rather than the other way round.

Partly depends on what you mean by religious beliefs. If you’re talking about the Abrahamic religions I imagine there’s more disparity between the norms of relationships within those communities and what happens in the swinging community. But then how many catholics on and off the scene have sex before marriage? People are more pragmatic about these things now I suspect.

It’s a bit like politics. Just something to argue about

Every one of the mainstream religions has had at least one "splinter group" that advocated free love in some form or other. Literally, every single one.

Proves the existence of God to me!

I am active in my church but, encouraged by meeting some liberated Christians early on in my faith journey, believe that God intended us to be happy and gave us the capacity to enjoy sex beyond just procreation. As long as we behave ethically in our relationships, why would anyone object? Needless to say, the present stance of the CofE on sex and gender makes me very sad and angry.

My parents went to church every Sunday but shagged around non stop. At least I don't go to church

Just wondering why you singled out catholics for this comment? Does the CofE advocate sex before marriage? What about the 7th Day Adventists or [insert other christian religion here]? Seems a bit weird to mention just one when they've all got very similar rules.

Because it’s how I was raised and therefore the one that sprang to mind as an example. Is that ok?

Absolutely! Was me asking to clarify okay too? It's what I'd do in a real conversation to better understand the person I'm talking too.

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Cheers,

If someone is on here then they probably don’t follow their religion that strongly.

Even if they practice it heavily and go to places of worship etc, they’ll likely be very relaxed to even be on here in the first place - so I wouldn’t worry about it.

We’re all here to have a good time. I’ve met plenty of religious people on here. It’s just a separate thing that’s left at the door. (Though one person did want to incorporate it into their roleplay)

I dunno, I practice my chosen religion regularly - daily I’d say. It’s just that mine doesn’t lay down rules about my sex life!

I've created my own religion. In my religion swinging is encouraged.

Thou shall throw it about, and it will be good.

I believe in God not necessarily religion. I find a bloke with a beard a but more understandable than a big bang. And I like the Idea of who would have had to shag to carry on the human race

Faith an religion are separate but have become intertwined, it seems folks like being told what to do hence religion

I come from a muslim/catholic background and practise parts of both.

The world can be a conflating and complicated place and in essence of this I follow one quote by Oscar Wilde

“There is no sin, except stupidity”

In a closed society where everybody's guilty, the only crime is getting caught
