Wink away, unless it states on the profile that they dont like or acknowledge them. This is where reading profiles comes into play and sadly a lot of people dont which causes hostile email replies and blocked members.

I'm afraid I just hit the 'delete all' button.

Winks to me are like photos being fab'd, it's nice and flattering but they don't prompt a response, if indeed that was what the winker wanted from the winkee

We like winks. It brings forward people that we might not otherwise have seen as we don't go in for searches really. Then the winker can be looked over and if its someone we like, we'll wink right back. If not, we'll hit delete and no harm done. Think that if you approach it not expecting a response to a wink, then you're not going to be disappointed if you don't get one x

Never looked at my winks or friend requests.

My view = if you want to talk to me, make an effort. I don't wink or invite at people, I expect the same in return.

We would prefer a message, can't say we have ever responded to winks.

Prefer messages. But it does get our attention.

We use winks as a way of letting people know we like what we see, and hoping they like what they see when they check us out.

It saves cluttering up their inbox.

I just wink back if I like the profile and leave it up to them to send a message.

I get several winks each week. If the winker's profile says little I delete the wink. If the profile is of interest I will send a message saying 'thank you for the wink'. Occasionally someone will send a reply back.

Therefore, winks achieve little in my experience. As has been mentioned before a well written message is much more interesting and acceptable.

Admittedly, I don't even look at them. Same as friend requests, I just hit "delete all".

Mr sends winks often; I never send any.

When we receive winks I'll very occasionally view their profile but thats as far as it goes for me.

Its like everything else - what one person likes another finds pointless.

winks from cpls are looked at while winks from single guys are deleted straight away.

Sorry guys but as there are so many you need to make an effort to be different.

Upside-down look-no-hands winking perhaps?

We like winks, either a cheeky "hey look at me" or a flirty hey I'm checking you out, we often respond and it does bring people to our attention that wouldn't normally see

I have my wink notification turned off so I would never know who has winked at me unless I go and look....but seeing as I never bother, it's pointless sending a wink to me
