pay for fab?

Would you pay for fab if it cut down on timewasters and people who have been blocked rejoining under another name?

A dilemma as the beauty of fab is its 100% free but a token fee time would probably cut abuse.

Would you part with cash for the site?

I've been on pay sites and you still get timewasters etc.

Ask those who pay for other sites if it cuts down on timewasters there? Fairly sure they still still get them

there is always the option of being a site supporter and only communicating with site supporters but at present that stops many potential great meets contacting you.

£5 for 60 days, it hardly breaks the bank and if it cuts timewasters and how easily people create fake accounts then I'd vote for it!

if we could get a 100% agreement to the definition of 'timewaster', get an honest 3 sides to any agreement made between the parties concerned, then I might consider 'it may' reduce it.

Surely people with no intention of meeting would not make up fake profiles or rejoining numerous times if it cost them hard earned. I would think you would have to be serious about meeting to pay for the privilege of accessing others.

Maybe just maybe those people who have had trouble with their definition of time wasters and fakes could look at the way they look for potential meets. That would then not affect those of us who don't have any problems to carry on using site just the way it is.

We used to be members of a very expensive site and we left because of the huge number of time wasters.

This site doesn't seem to have half the number if that place.

I dont use filter as I don't want to exclude any meets however I should not HAVE to use the filters if I didn't get hundreds of messages from twats just wanting to ask how big my cock is. Or messaging a woman for days arranging a meet only for them to vanish off the site and reappeear two days later winking at you. We all know that 99 % of received messages on here are spam that basically will never, would never have led anywhere. Enforcing payment across the board would hopefully see a good chunk of the idiots leave therefore reducing the amount of crap you have to trail through to get a genuine meet. The only downside I can see would be no more 'why can't I get a meet threads!

Everyone has a solution, that's why there are timewasters on every site.

Pay sites, free sites, all have exactly the same problems.

Its not them that have the problem, its people that reply to them.

So you don't have any preferences on age, singles either m or f or couples ? I'm sorry and it's your profile so you are entitled to use it the way you want but that seems to me to be asking for problems. Never mind as long as it works for you that's all that matters

Won't work.

Firstly how would it be policed? If you had someone cancel at short notice or just not turn up, you'd report them for it, so suddenly the admins have hundreds of people to time consumingly ask for their side of a story and decide if it was a malicious let down, a malicious complaint or a genuine reason. Then decide on a ban of some sort.

Secondly, they'd be banning or deleting people who've paid money for a service. The site would get a bad reputation as occasionally the admins would ban the wrong people, (averages say that would happen) and the revenue would dry up.

So basically it's a great free site that you can get a lot out of if you just employ your filters and common sense.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Agree with some of the comments above. What is a timewaster? is it really a man who has messaged you, or a woman who left the site? How much time did it take to delete the message? How much time does it take to ignore winks?

Now if you are talking about people who arrange to meet then leave you waiting (a REAL timewaster) then I can quite happily assure you that pay sites do not prevent this sort of thing happening. I know, because I have worked my way through pretty much all the sex and swinging networking sites on the internet.

Yes, there are more dreamers and pic collectors on a free site, but there are also many many more lovely quality people who are dipping their toe and don't want to commit to £30 a month for the rest of their days. This site gives US the freedom to meet or not, look or not, wink or not.

Oh, and I find that a clearly written and honest profile stating what you want is much more likely to filter messages out, as I get very few messages and I am that rare bird, the single bi female! Use the tools you are provided by the site and you'll enjoy it a lot more without begrudging it to people less sure.

Pay the same fee as women and couples to be largely ignored amongst a vast surplus of single males.

No ta.

I'm not talking a ban or report. Simply think a fee on joining would dissuade them from joining in the first place.

Don't get me wrong it would be galling to have to pay having used the site for free for five years but then again the issue was never a problem in 2008.

I think the original poster was hoping that a pay site would result in only genuine profiles.

Making it more of a chance of him getting shagged.

Unfortunately, people spend a hell of a lot more on the pay per _iew porn sites.

The £5 for 60 days free entertainment and titillation is not going to deter anyone.

Most sites are free to join. Its the 'pay to read your messages' that gets them opening their wallets.

We have found the same! No one is going to pay good money just to jerk people about. It has to be a firm decision before you part with hard earned cash. We also get more meets from the pay site.

However, Fab is ok the way it is. It is social and we have made vanilla friends on here, even if we can't find anyone who wants to shag us!

it's a business, it's direction will be determined by revenues I would imagine.

a lot of revenue may come from the people who use it for more of an Adult Facebook type activity and that is maybe a strategic direction taken.

it offers choice.
