My wife and I have decided to take a break from meeting/playing/club meets. This wasn’t due to a negative experience at all, but just to get back to ‘normal’ life for a while.
I just wondered how common this was and what has prompted others to have a break.
Also, how long did you have a break for and did you find it difficult not to be lured back in!? |

I do so occasionally. Currently taking one now. My normal play with very few exceptions was leaving me feeling deflated and not good.
Every few years i feel the need to reset... although this time there are a few other reasons. |

We don't "take a break" we just accept that there are at times other priorities in life. We can easily go 3 months without going to a club or meeting someone but we're not having a break, just letting life's priorities take over |

This is just a hobby for me not a lifestyle.
I haven't met anyone new in 3 years partly by choice partly due to life and health and other shit going on.
Fab is very low on my list of priorities and it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if I never met again. |

Only you know what’s right for you. I’m sure that people will share their own experiences but every one will be unique to them. Trust your own instincts. |

We kind of go in and out of the scene. We only play with others at Chams (currently), so it's almost like Chams is just a sex toy. When we're done with it we put it back in the draw till we're ready to get it out again. I definitely feel like you can over do stuff like this. I wouldn't want it to be a weekly thing. I like our time too much to share it constantly with others. A break will do no one any harm in our opinion. But each to their own x |

Take breaks regularly, fab life isn’t a priority for me it just scratches an itch and when I’ve got stuff going on in real life that comes first. My friends, family and work are way more important than anyone from this life and I will always choose them over it.
Also the crappy messages I still get despite having an arsey profile advising everyone I won’t read or reply to them is mentally draining at times, I look at the number of unread increasing every time I log on and my heart just sinks. |

I’d say life to us is “normal” regardless of whether we are feeling interested or disinterested in swinging.
We go through patches of being interested in Fab and not, but all other aspects of life and us as a couple remain un-impacted. |

5 years was my longest break. Doesn't hurt to step back and enjoy eachother's company without any extras at times.
Take as long as you need. There's no hard rule on how long you can take time out and doing so regularly can be quite healthy. |
