We've been doing it a few years now. Get zero physical pleasure from it as it fucking hurts, but enjoy watching the missus being perverted - even if at the expense of my poor arsehole. This is the only time she ever is dom and even kind of sadistic. Although we're not into BDSM, any other vaguely rough play is always akin to the conventional male- female dom-sub roles.

If it’s hurting then you’re not doing something right.
Pegging should start with preparation and ensuring all are ready.
If it hurts it’s your body saying you should stop.

We both really enjoy a good pegging!
I find it not only physically stimulating but the dynamic switch is seriously hot! It adds a whole new element to sexual play. A also gets a very dirty glint in her eyes when the strap on is out and the dom side really comes out!
