Keeping the thread going. In my rest week this week. Off to Ireland on Thursday and doing Ironman Ireland in Youghal on Sunday. 2 loop bike course (112 miles) with the famous Windmill Hill to negotiate twice in town. 22% will be severely punishing at about 111 miles! Looking forward to the Irish support though which is meant to be amazing. If it can rival Ironman Wales then I'll be a very happy (albeit knackered) man late Sunday night. |

Got my full suspension completely serviced and need to get back out on the trails but significantly lacking the motivation/minerals to do so!

Well, I made it. Only 46 miles today so it’s not going to break any records but it was fully loaded for camping with a lot of it off road and added to that this time last year I was immobilised with a broken leg, not knowing if I would be able to ride again, I’m going to take that as a win |

Best of luck, it's a killer course but great crowds my friends said he raced there last year. |

Thanks. Looking forward to the atmosphere. After Wales I don't think any course will hold any fear. |

So tonight saw my return to come type of competition, rode the local 10 mile TT event. First individual since a road as a school boy.
Just need the official times but it will be around 26-27 ish. Happy with that as a benchmark. |

I'm disappointed. I thought this thread was going to be a bit like a Confessions of a cyclist type thing with Robin whatshisname stopping off at different points for a quick one |

So who has been out and about this Bank Holiday weekend?
I had a very annoying puncture yesterday on my bike tue tubless would not seal as it was middle of the tyre where it hits the road. So tomorrow's job is sorting that out and maybe go for a couple of miles. |

"After suffering unpleasant foot pain for the last 19 months, got out on my road bike today.
43 miles around Calderdale taking in two of the longest climbs in England.
Just need to keep it up now."
Which are the 2 longest climbs in England, definitely peaked my attention. Thought we had some good climbs over Holme Moss way! |

Cragg Vale is the longest continuous climb in England at 5.95 miles, the other is the Long Causeway out of Burnley towards Calderdale.
Not the steepest or the hardest, but they are about as long as you get without any flat bits. |

Enjoyed a good ride out at the weekend 87 miles total. Went out towards the Yorkshire Dales, taking in some of the Tour roads. Great roads and lots of fun......x |
