Firstly, yes I do delete/block as needed.

I thought I'd made it clear on my profile that I'm not looking to meet or chat at the moment. Yet I'm getting rammed by guys wanting to meet/chat, some have obviously even read my profile from how they phrase their messages.

How sodding blunt do I have to get?

If it upsets you this much maybe try applying the filters, that way you won't get messages and since you don't want to chat or meet, seems the best solution?

I tried that when things first changed. My inbox exploded with the "hi, how are you today" regulars asking what was wrong.

Will try the filters and see how I get on. Be sods law I'll forget they are on, have a rare chance to meet and wonder why I get no messages.

I don't know why people get their panties in a bunch over mail. My profile is specific. I make it quite clear I won't respond to anyone outwith what I'm looking for...and I don't!

Delete, ignore, don't give them another thought, and the world turns.

Result? One chilled and relax gal!

We get so many messages that don't take the trouble to read our profile. We just take it with a pinch of salt and have not even had to get the ban stick out yet.

Delete all your 'looking for' options. It takes you off the searches so random people won't find you. Just tick them again when you're wanting to get mail.

I rarely get unsolicited mail. It's great!!

It seems the surefire way to get lots of messages is to tell 'em you're not looking to meet!

I think it's a case of selective reading - the only word they see is meet!

You can't stop people messaging you, if there is nothing in place to stop them they will.

You can stop reading the messages, or responding to them. Just leave them sitting them and dont bother.

I took a break from fab a while ago, i deleted my profile text, and my pictures.

I replaced the text with simply

'Taking a break; nothing actually wrong, just need some space, I will be in touch with friends when i can'

I put my message filters on, so no one new could message me.

I had three weeks away, and not one message.

having said that I am not a pretty lady, so may be its easier for me!
