Golden Sands or Sunny beach?

Hi all.

I am taking a lady friend away for a week's all inclusive. We have decided on Bulgaria, but not sure where is better, Golden Sands or Sunny beach? I've heard alot about Sunny B, but it sounds very much like Benidorm to me. Any advice or opinions?

Thank you in advance.

Sunny Beach is similar to Benidorm, a great place for a holiday. Have a look at Royal Sun apartments on TripAdvisor, ranked number 2. Go on the bus to Nessebar for a quieter day out to see a bit of history.

Sunny Beach is like Benidorm, but has more upmarket resorts nearby. Golden Sands is much more sedate so probably not much good for swinging action. Depends what you are looking for?

We stayed in a hotel 10 minutes walk from Sunny Beach and was pleasantly surprised it wasn't that bad at all, Nessebar is on the edge of Sunny Beach and is very pretty

As stated it depends what you’re looking for, flower street is where all the action is, either side of that is more for families.

I'm basically looking for a resort that's not full of pissed up Brits. Unfortunately that's the feedback I got about Sunny beach from elsewhere, but it doesn't seem to be the case judging from what you guys say, so I might give it a shot.

Many thanks for your input.

We're British and like a drink on holiday but don't get "pissed up". When we were in Sunny Beach we saw lots of Brits having a drink but none we would describe as "pissed up". Flower Street is probably the area for you to avoid, we only had one drink there as we were on a family holiday

Avoid flower street and you’ll be fine, we’ve been a number of times and had no issues. Highly recommend Khan’s tent and fat cats.

My pal has an apartment in Sunny Beach very close to Nessebar so away from the main Sunny Beach area. His was built off plan 10 years ago and has since been built up around him. He tells me that pre covid parts of SB were like Ibiza but has died down now. His place is in a private complex behind gates with a pool and all the other stuff. He shops and eats in Nessebar and says the Brits haven't spoilt the place yet....lol
