Quite a few profiles say that messages will be ignored/deleted/blocked if not accompanied with a face pic but they rarely show their own face pic. The same can happen in conversations where people insist on receiving face pics but seem unwilling to provide their's first. Is it just me who finds it odd that some people expect you to do something they are not (provide first)?
As a novice to this world, what's the normal/accepted protocol? |

Maybe it’s because I’m only looking at profiles for single women and couples but, from what I see, it tends to be single women that predominantly do this.
As they are in the minority, and are sought by the majority (single guys) then they can do pretty much what they please because they are in that position.
I’m not complaining or saying that they should do anything differently, it’s just a fact of life and basic economics. If you control a scare commodity then you can set the market rate lol. |

This is the truest thing I've read on these forums!! Completely agree .. half the time the people demanding them only have a couple of pics |

People can ask for/demand whatever they like. However it's totally within your control to comply or not. Never do anything you don't want to or are uncomfortable with. Concentrate on the profiles which fit whichever criteria you find acceptable  |

Just don't engage with those profiles op ,they can ask as it's their profile.
We don't ask for a pic first message ,but will want to see one early on ,Incase there's no attraction.
It's a good filter for those women and couples who do get lots of mail & means they can see if they want to take it further quickly.

Surely whoever sent the first message should send face pics first if they want to receive some? It's not blind date  (well to some it is!). We've bizarrely on a few occasions been messaged first and asked if we have face pics  |

Exactly this, but we would also add.
We state face pics are needed and the logic is this.
If we are to contact people expressing an interest, this would only be after reading their profile to ensure we are looking for the same thing.
Should we decide to message expressing that interest, then we would like that interest to be reciprocated, so we will send our pics first as requested, especially if they state that this is needed to determine an interest.
If they don't state this, then we would still expect that if we are making the first contact, then we will need to make the first step with pics.
We are going to have to send them at some point, why delay and invest time and effort pursuing something that will never happen if there's no attraction.
If someone contacts us first we expect the same courtesy.

We think that usually the approacher profile (message, wink etc) must make the first move, and show their faces first, but it depends on the couple approaching us. If they have reasonable number of credible verifications then we may send face pics soon, to see if they are really interested or lose interest when they see us. So in that case we are less concerned about them seeing our faces than wasting time by delaying in sending face pics.
With couples with very few or no veris we do not send our face pics unless they have sent theirs and we are very very interested (we rarely are any more with unverified couples). |
