The issue with a garden cane is they haven't been properly hardened and varnished - so they tend to break and splinter too easily.
Elastic bands are tame.
The cane, when used hard, is not even for people with a generally high tolerance. It's only for those that REALLY like pain and have a particularly high pain threshold. I still have yet to find anyone who can actually take the cane full on. Even from a skillful and experienced hand. |
