"i(stew) have being diagnosed with a under active thyroid and as of which my sex drive has plummeted were looking for ways to sort this out any thoughts or ideas "
What has the GP suggested? Usually Thyroxin or similar... |

Hi man, sorry to hear this.
As someone who's suffered from hypothyroid from a very young age there's actually a lot you can do, your doctor is an idiot and I'm guessing NHS... They're very far behind on the research of this.
You want to look into:
Thyroxine
Thyroid Erfa
You really should find a doctor who knows what they're talking about too. I had to go outside of the UK to find a doctor and it's extremely expensive. If you want more info then send me a message privately |

That's bollocks! (sorry) get yourself another GP. I'm 51 and in July I will be having my annual set of blood tests. I have already told me GP that I think I have a libido problem, HE said 'that'll be your thyroid but we have to wait until those tests, then it'll be simple medication to sort it out'. Job done.
ANY GP who tells you in this day and age that 'theres not much that can be done, dont worry about it' should be f***in struck off!
Sorry if this is ranting, but people like that bloody wind me up!!
Seriously, GET A 2ND OPINION and INSIST you get treatment. |

"i am on meds and on the mend it's taken time but my sex drive is a lot lower than it was think i might go back to my doc's and see someone new."
I just googled what you ask about, obviously google results can't be totally relied on, but a few links suggest asking for testosterone supplements with low thyroid. Some links suggest with the right thyroid replacement level drugs, your sex drive could even out after some time. Worth asking again with another GP hopefully |
