I'd say in an open relationship,one or both of them date other people with the others permission.

On here it's just people meeting for fun,that's how I see it .

Swinging is usually around playing together or at least sharing experiences with each other. Open relationships tend to be more solo adventures on either side.

I think swinging is activities for the sexual pleasure of both.

And an open relationship is where each has the other’s blessing to seek sexual pleasure of their own.

But there’s massive overlap.

swinging is a lifestyle based on sex with others originally couples seeking extra now swinging is a more open book but still based on sex with others rather than sex with one ..

open relationship is in my book part of the poly umbrella its relationships with others not just sex

thats my opinion
