I've had the snip, so I just can't imagine why anyone would want to lie about such a thing.
I had a surreal home meet with a couple in Yorkshire a while back... On this theme with a twist. I told hubby that I came prepared with condoms and lube etc. Also mentioned I'm sterile. Hubby then quickly said for me not to mention to his wife I'm cut, because she had some sort of a pregnancy fetish thing going. And she was in her late 40s. We had fun and I kept 'Mum' as suggested.

In most cases, vasectomy is more than 99% effective. A recent study provided data to show Out of 2,000 men who are sterilised, 1 will get a woman pregnant during the rest of his lifetime.
Male sterilisation is considered permanent. Once it's done, you don't have to think about contraception again.
You need to use contraception for at least 8 weeks after the operation, because sperm stay in the tubes leading to the penis.
Up to 3 semen tests are done after the operation, to make sure that all the sperm have gone.

Iv had the snip but iv not told anyone we meet with not the sort of thing u try to convince someone to go bareback unless u no them very well like a fwb kind of thing  |

I had the snip 14 years ago, and after I got my official ‘Jaffa Certificate’, I have never been checked again.
The chances of any swimmers jumping the gap produced by the length of vas deferens removed from me (and shown to me), and undoing the knot each end, to gain access to my cock during ejaculation, are very slim indeed…..  |

This is simply not true. I had mine done about 12 years ago now. At 10 years I wanted to be 100% sure so I got retested. I was negative. They told me if you’re negative of sperm after 10 years you never need to be tested again. |

When I had mine done as part of the pre operation talk with the consultant he told me that the chances of a successful reversal after 2 years were almost nil as the tubes sealed up! So the chances of it reverting itself are miniscule.  |

It maybe simply not true for you, but not for all the population, as for 10 years the stats drop dramatically for any change so yes there right however the risk isn't completely eliminated there has been reports upto 14 years so it's not 100% safe
From vasectomy - 7 years there's slightly greater risk of recanalization occuring resulting in pregnancy (again papers written and reported on)
While one may go well another may not, survivors bias isn't factual.

Another angle on this…
Claiming to have had a vasectomy to get sex, where the vasectomy was a condition, could lead to a r@pe claim.
Personally I was done a few years ago and each tube was double cauterised, and no stitches done to the scrotum. The single scar is very small and hard to find. |

I had mine done early 80's. I was given no such advice nor do I know of anybody who was. It was always considered to be permanent. |

I had mine done early 80's. I was given no such advice nor do I know of anybody who was. It was always considered to be permanent."

The scars on the sac will still be visable. John's was done 10yrs ago and when he is freshly shaved you can see the small scars are still visable where the accessed the tubes. But better to not take risks anyway snipped or not.

Thanks for all your replies,
Thankfully we’ve not been in this situation, my husbands had the snip but I can’t take the pill, we were having a chat and I said if a couple or single man said he had had the snip that I wouldn’t take their word for it and would insist they were a condom he didn’t think many people would lie about having the snip because of the impact it would have should the women fall pregnant.
So it was just asking others views on this.
My husband had the snip 15 years ago when we lived abroad and he had part of his tubes removed so it cant be reversed Just thought I’d pop this on here reading comments about the effectiveness of the snip. |
