I'm a single guy and have been for a good few years. i have had my beard for almost 5 years and have grown emotionally attached. I understand this puts some women off (just from feedback on a night out) but my question is why?
What puts women off the beard!?
Is it an itch thing or is it the aesthetics? |

I know all ages of men can have a beard but to me beards = old.
I don't like to think of it scratching me down there or tickling my face when kissing...yuk.
I wonder why you feel an emotional attachment to yours? Would you feel less of a man without it? |

I grew it during an odd time in my life. my ex wife walked out leaving me and my daughter, I lost my brother, and was made redundant.
However, during this time I also found swinging, decided on a change of career into something far more rewarding, and actually found myself as a person! I guess it embodies the new me! |

Beards can be very spikey when kissing and if you like kissing, like me, you could end up with sore skin.
Also if its bushy.. It can smell.. Yuck.. If its a trimmed beard not so bad...
Shave it.. U never know you might just like the new you! |

My love of a hairy face is well documented here and there are others just like me. It's like porn!
You may find if you go beard free you will still have a lot of work in getting a meet. Do what is best for you, not what others want and in the mean time, go look at the British Beard Club for support and inspiration.

"Do what YOU want and don't be influenced by a few fussy women with hang-ups about male hair. There are plenty of women who do like beards. "
im not going to do anything as drastic as a shave! Im just curious. I've never had a problem when playing in a club or even when pulling on a night out, im just trying to work out why the majority dislike them.
You could argue the beard is misunderstood!!! |

I wouldn't change who I am either, to increase my chances of getting meets. A lot of women don't like beards, true - but a lot do like them too, maybe they are just less vociferous about it? Haven't you noticed that people usually make much more noise about what they DON'T like as opposed to what they DO!
I have had beards at various intervals in my life and actually I think more women have fancied me when I had one! I recently met someone while I was a bit stubbly and we agreed to meet a few days later to spend the night together; I shaved my face for the occasion and she actually asked me to grow it back as she liked the roughness of it and enjoyed the sensation of rubbing her face against mine. So there you go, horses for courses. |

My better half has a lovely well maintained & tidy beard that I adore.
I can sit for hours stroking it as we watch tv or a movie. I love the feel of it when we kiss or when he rubs it over me.
Keep it its very hot |

I saw a guy on tv last night with a beard. He looked... quite sexy in a rugged outdoorsy way.
I suppose it depends on the beard, length, hygiene, and the bloke hanging off it, but I find some of them attractive.
Bushy handlebar moustaches are most definitely out, however.

..yeah, a beard is my look. I have been told i look good in the goatee that i have. But, that has been my downfall in getting meets. Once they know i have a beard, all the interest goes.
Hopefully, theres some women out there who like it..something extra to play with.

I shaved my goatee off last year for a woman and hated it. Really regretted it after she said she wanted to 'cool things off' !
I bumped into her a few weeks later and she commented on my goatee growing again.
I had returned the compliment by saying how well she had done growing her beard too !
I've not talk to her since......... |

I love facial hair and long hair on guys, it makes them stand out from the crowd. BUT it has to be in good condition, thick and not ginger. I know thats a bit fussy, but ginger facial hair just reminds me of pubes |

I like short stubbley beards, I don't like the birds nest type ones, also not fond when it grows over the guys lip. Matt has a beard but it's always maintained. |
