I was in Studland today and noticed a few flags flying do many of you use them

Not too many; some people fly their naturist club flags, some fly the Union Jack (well done), and some gay pride. Excellent all round.

That makes sense I didn't know if it was a way of directing people to you if you were on a busy beach

Not sure about flags themselves but I’d bet there wouldn’t be a shortage of flagpoles at a nuddy beach..
