The more expensive the hotel, the more discretion they give their customers. Hoteliers know full well what goes on…

The cheap ones clamp down on it. The expensive ones turn a blind eye. Also it’s not a good customer experience to have to use fobs and cards every 2 minutes…

So yeah check the more mid range to expensive hotels. avoid premier inn, travel lodge, easy hotel etc as they’ll likely all use cards

The higher end hotels is never a problem, when you check in ask for two cards and tell them your partner will be turning up later and will collect the keycard from reception when they arrive. If it’s a last min meet, just pop down to reception and let them know your partner will be arriving at said time and will need a card just in case you are asleep. I do this on a regular basis and it’s never been a problem.

Good luck and have fun x

Any of the Hilton hotels, you download the app, checkin online and use the digital key through the app. If you are struggling on how to use them pm me, I use them a lot

Most reasonable hotels you can just walk past reception into the lifts & go to the room.

If I’m meeting somebody and they’re coming straight to the room, are used to send them details of where the reception is, which side the leafs are, that type of thing. Also walking like you belong there, not like you’re lost or caught in the headlights

The Hilton Doubletree in Leeds would be suitable because plenty of non-residents visit the Sky Lounge. It’s a decent hotel too.
