I am very keen to be caged and wear a chastity device but am not sure what to buy and what size is best for me. I would appreciate any suggestions

Not a bad idea to buy something fairly cheap from eBay or Ali Express that come with multiple base rings so you can try them out for size. Build up time when you start out, don’t rush.
