Noone, i dont really talk about my private life with my family, when i was married i didnt talk about my sex life with my ex with them so im not going to tell them about it now  |

Yes but some people have friends and family in there lives that they trust, so they feel like they can share thing with.
We haven't told any family or any other friends other than the 2 we know we can trust and talk to about it all |

Well, I told my best friend and she was shocked but I tell her everything. And that's it.
Though, I don't think anyone would believe me if I said I did. Most think I'm prudish and a virgin still.
Up until I was 20, I told everyone that I would not have sex outside of marriage and I truly believed I would, then.

There was a live thread on here just before Christmas which was about a couple, the fem of which had even told her workmates what she gets up to, and then was 'so surprised' when a new boy in the office started hitting on her, expecting her to shag him over the photocopier (etc!)
It's one thing having ONE or two VERY close friends knowing what you do for safety's sake - specially if you're a female 'swingle'. But always remember that the more people you tell, the more chance they will tell someone else (in confidence, 'of course'....!!) and you never know when that will come back and bite you.
And, in my humble experience of seeing people come to grief over this in the past, it is often those you LEAST expect to be offended by your lifestyle choices who will be the ones to ruin it for you... Tread carefully...

When I was playing as a single female I told my sister I was on here and would tell her where I was going etc for a safety aspect. My dad knew I was going out a lot but not what for (i hope!). He just told me to make sure someone knew where I was and keep my phone on and charged.
Some friends at work found out after I left fab open on my phone and someone borrowed it but never had any grief from it. In fact they just asked a lot of questions about clubs and parties etc. My best friend at work used to encourage me to have the perfect week......a different meet every day for a week lol never did it though  |

Our next door neighbours know on both sides. We try to encourage the single next door as she goes into town to pull. She's been on cam with us in the past - and no, we've never played with her! Jim's daughter knew that her father used to 'entertain' and that we met online.
Other than that - I'd say that 95% of our friends are swingers themselves. |

We've often wondered what'd happen if we met people we know at a club.

We both have friends in the vanilla world that we have discovered are involved in the BDSM scene and they obviously know.
I (2wheels) know that some of my friends suspect as there is occassional banter about "specialist clubs" but no one knows the details. As others have said I don;t feel the need to discuss my sex life with friends or workmates. I have no family bit the thought of crystal's family knowing is just weird but each to their own. |

I know it's up to each of us how we live our lives, and I can see why some people would share with famiies, and I can see why close friends may know. But can someone explain to me why they feel sharing with their work colleagues is a good idea? |

Depends on your job too, some people would be sacked because their contracts have a clause about bringing the profession in to disrepute and this sort of activity is considered by some to be disreputable. Personally I think that fiddling your tax is way more disreputable but then I have always been considered odd. |

For the sake of my safety I don't hide things.
The elders of my family know that I meet lots of 'friends'. The younger ones know that I use a 'sex site'. My work colleagues know that I 'have fun with lots of different people'. My friends are just jealous!

Only a Couple of friends know,and i like it that way.
However ....A couple of weeks ago i went to a concert with a female friend and her(also female) mate.Nothing had happened between us previously, but that night i ended up having a 3 sum with her and her friend.It then came out in the conversation in the morning that i was a swinger ,as was her friend.So she knows now as well.I trust her with my life, so have no worries there.But as said, as a rule i like to keep my lifestyle seperate from my "real" life. |

See I think the their is a big difference between sharing your sex life and letting people know your life style choices.
People know I am in this lifestyle.. but not what I do... They just know that I don't have a traditional outlook on sex and relationships..
I would never sit down and tell them exactly what I do when I play.. besides.. they would think I was making it up anyway.

No I don't think so, I would sleep with 18 year old women on here and I have. But if I found out a member of family did it at 18 I would be concerned as i don't think it's best life style for someone that age, but it is their decision. |

A few years ago I was on a different site..started viewing a cam and it was one of my sisters friends that I had known since she was 15.We chatted on cam..never had sex it would have been to weird but she was only person who knew i was swinging and i was only person who knew she was.. |

why?
whilst only you would know whether in general your children or young relatives were emotionally mature eg. not vulnerable etc, 18 yr olds are by and large adults under the law..
yes not all are as mature as others, but that applies across the age ranges..
if 18 yr olds are old enough to 'serve the country', drink alcohol etc then they areold enough to make their own informed decisions imho.. |

Why is being a private person mean you are ashamed of what you do? If you were ashamed of what you were doing surely you wouldn't even be doing it.
The two don't go together at all.
The only people who know we are swingers is the goverment....in the line of work the OH does he had to have a high level security check and he disclosed it as advised.

Some people male or female can't play with other people while in a relationship and I don't think they should be condemned for it....but when they are single they may be quite happy helping out with a couples fantasy.
I don't see anything wrong with that.
The only time I think it could become an issue is if they say " oh gawd there is no way I would share my wife/husband as that would mean that I would think less of them for it " etc. |

People we play with and friends in the scene obviously know. The rest family etc well we haven't seen a reason so far to tell them and dont expect in the future. Its not really necessity to disclose it not unlike your mum telling you she likes a good anal session. |

Unfortunately most of our family and friends do. I had told one of our best friends and told her to keep it to herself. She turned up d*unk to a family bbq, which had old school friends, family and friends of family and she went round asking everyone if they were there to have sex with us. Grrrr. I wasn't impressed and pulled her up about it, thought I'd be able to forgive her at some point but I just can't bring myself to! Shame because we were really close. |

You beat us to it, how many times have you seen guys on here, who have no qualms playing with others wives, who'd never let their wives play?

My daughter is now 23 but at no point did I interfere with her life .
Whatever she wanted to sexually was her business and not mine . Yeah of course it's her choice. But I would be worried that at 18 they are in danger of getting hurt, emoitionally and maybe even physically. Stranger danger and all that.

It's taught me how amazingly open minded your average person is and how many people you wouldn't think would be interested in the lifestyle actually are, but just too intimidated or not in the right position in life to explore it |

No one knows except people I've met and my daughters best friends dad who I swung with for a while. We bumped into each other on another site. But we kept bumping into each other in R L at PTA meetings and class assemblies and it we decided to knock it on the head in case someone got suspicious that we were having an affair! |

Most people close to me know my lifestyle choices.. but that's as much detail as they know.
some nice person has just told my 15 year old.. wasn't impressed but she has took it really well and gave me a safe sex lecture and she hopes she is as rocking as me at my age.
I was more shocked to be honest that at her age she knew what she did but apparently it's something lots of people's parents do. And she found out of a friends mum who is on here. |

Everyone. Family, friends, work colleagues etc. We are open about our life. No point for us to close it off to friends because we've had sex with a lot of them, no point closing it off to family because if they find pics online they can ignore and move on and not worry, and work people know because it's just something to talk about :D |
