Was just laughing to myself going back through some old saved messages.
Every unreliable idiot & timewaster we have encountered on this site has made the claim to be "absolutely reliable" & def not a timewaster.
Actions speak louder than words I guess |

Yep , had that too ,
Just this week , had a guy message us , we liked his profile which also stated was genuine and would always turn up for an arranged meet etc , we liked his pics , had a few messages with him and all seemed good , we said we, d be up for a meet , asked him when etc , he replied for friday ( tonight ) , we agree and set things up etc ,
We arranged for a baby sitter and was looking forward to meeting the guy .
Hey ho we get a message saying he can, t make tonight .......we know things in lifes daily routine can unexpectedly change , but its damn frustrating |

It is frustrating but that doesn't make him a time waster IMO. A time waster for me is someone who arranges a time and place to meet and then just doesn't turn up. |

Thats a fair point however its rather uncanny how too often a "family emergency" occurs right at the last moment!!!
One guy we had arranged to meet actually sent us a text to say he was parking up his car only to vanish & text later with the old "family emergency" excuse. He never even saw us so that was not the explanation - cold feet we reckon.

I absolutely understand your frustrations. We have young children, and a real life, but we would never commit ourselves if we thought there was ever a chance that we would have to cancel. Our gripe..(to the extent that my guy has hidden our proffile) is that oeople don't actually do what they claim to!.....but back to you... |

Yeah we had a guy we'd been chatting to, on & off, for a while, several verifications & when we posted a meet, he answered-so we said yes. Come the day of the event, about 7 hours before he just went all quiet.... Luckily we'd planned for that & had 3 guys turning up!! lol |

Having young family & busy jobs it takes us a considerable amount of time, effort & cost to allow us the time to meet someone from fab.
Cancellations are in some cases clearly unavoidable but it is the casual deception & rudeness that way too many people on this site display that is really frustrating.
Its been discussed many, many times & certainly there is no obvious solution.
Experience has however taught us the following:-
- effusive assurances of reliability generally indicate the opposite
- verifications are not fullproof by a long shot
& most importantly...
- WHEN ARRANGING A MEET WITH SOMEONE ALWAYS, ALWAYS HAVE A PLAN B OR EVEN C.
Trust no-one cos its safer to assume they are all liars. |

The day someone openly puts "time waster - I'll string you along and blow you out last minute" on their profile will be the day.......oh sod it, it'll never happen!!
Sadly many get cold feet, many will have had no intention of meeting, many will discover last minute that their other half isn't out for the night with the girls - and others will have just got the pre meet horn, had a tug and no longer feel the need!
There's no foolproof avoidance system - you can check veri's, chat on cam, talk on the phone and still get let down. If you're going to be unlucky and have it happen to you then I'd be dubious about giving second chances, apply a block and keep your fingers crossed for next time!
As has often been said there's many on here that are 99% certain not to let you down short of global disasters (or right now a foot or so of snow!) - and if you can find them - happy days!!
Good luck next time!! |

Was very disappointed.

this is an unfortunate side affect of swinging and goes with the territory even after you go through the saftey checks agree location confirm via phone and no show no reason or message plus they then block your profile haha i agree the timewaister is frustration and spoils the concept of swinging but i find the pluse always outways minus |

Yep!! I guess after a while on site you kind of develop a sixth sense sometimes!
I've had one blow out in 3 years - and as I was in that particular city at the time anyway I wasn't put out in terms of cost, time or inconvenience. So I just went to a bar instead!!
For example should an attractive 21 yr old send me brief one liner messages, with gushing compliments, followed by a friends invite and a question as to whether I'd like to meet - even though they've been on site I we a year with no little green tick and have put as many words into their profile as their short messages - I'm unlikely to bite!!
But you're right - I've heard every excuse under the sun for being unverified, why they can't show pics and why after a few message exchanges they're sorry and have to change plans.
These says unless its someone I know - I tend to approach things with little expectancy - and hence am rarely disappointed - more often pleasantly surprised! |

Last weekend we agreed to meet 3 couples - all verified only to see one after another all their profiles cancelled without them letting us know.
After that we arranged to meet 2 single guys also verified.
After getting his confirmation at 5pm one had a "family emergency" within the hour & the other had genuine problems.

A public beheading for their first offence is only fair & reasonable in my view. |
