Yes although "let" isn't how we would describe it, We are together a long time and our relationship is built on mutual trust and love to the point where we are comfortable inviting guests into our sex lives, for some couples it is a fantasy that they might never fulfill but enjoy toying with on here and thats fine also, I wouldn't say its weird but it is a different path to Monogamy which is the cultural norm so to speak, and yes lots of couples are monogamous, and would be repelled by they thought of sharing their partner, if it works for them thats amazing! |

Whether monogamy is a social construct or evolutionary trait is far from a styled argument. There is a lot of evidence based on teeth, relative sizes of men and women to each other going back millions of years that it was driven by evolution. I would also question whether people’s attitudes to it as Herero normative. We socialise almost exclusively with gay men, and whilst many are very promiscuous within relationships, many are monogamous. I don’t know many lesbians, but if those lesbian couples I have known, all were monogamous. It’s an interesting debate though. We obviously have sexual contact with others but would consider ourselves monogamous because it’s something we do with each other as an addition to our sexual pleasure with zero emotional attachment to others involved. It might not be the dictionary definition but it makes sense to us! |

I think the point the OP was making, albeit clumsily, is that he struggles with accepting that he has a strong desire to watch his wife with other men.
I get this as I was in the same position years ago myself. I was in another relationship and had the same fantasy and shared this with my then partner. She didn't take it well and could not understand why I would want to see her with other guys if I loved her. I questioned myself and was also unaware of other guys who also shared this fantasy and how common it is. I also felt weird.
Now I'm with a partner who enjoys me watching her and I've met other Stag/Vixen couples that have similar experiences. It's been liberating and I feel comfortable with who I am.

I don’t own my wife wife, she is her own person and as such free to do what she wants, when she wants. Dee has always enjoyed attention from other guys, I knew that when we got married so it’s a case of adapting your lifestyle to suit what you both need from each other. Wow. Everyone has fantasies, everyone has dreams. Humans are literally built for pleasure. We’ve experienced every kind of scenario. We enjoy sex and contact with others to the maximum. It started a bit like that. My long term (primary partner) and I lived together for 5 years and we’d always been poly, however never really dabbled. Her hormones took a nosedive and therefore so did our sex life, so when I got chatting to another lass things developed. Was initially just sex, but then lockdown happened so kind of threw us together a lot more and feelings developed.
That’s when the problems started as I it was nigh on impossible to manage the time and emotions living so close.
Thing the final straw came when I had to tell my primary that I was in love with the other lass and couldn’t/wouldn’t treat her as a secondary.
Turns out the “secondary” was a narcissistic psychopath (still is) who ended things abruptly and nastily after I’d gone through all that with my primary. About 6 weeks after that brutal breakup primary decided to leave too…that was not a fun time!
Anywho happy ending as with my current partner who I’ve known for 8 years and all going great.
Will say I grew HUGELY as a partner and indeed person from trying poly, just isn’t for me (currently). |
