We use our hotlist as a would like to meet list. Then when we’re looking we wink/message people on our list saves trying to remember when we saw someone we liked

Never bother with winks, certainly don’t send them - experience form those we receive tells us they never lead anywhere, so find them meaningless.

We watch the updates on our hotlist and if they post meets when we’re looking for meets we’ll drop a message and hope it leads somewhere.

Good question. I do like Winks as an initial expression of interest, and I find it exciting to receive one. However, I agree sending a short message seems to generally be more effective and more likely to get a response.

Whatever ‘rules’ we make for ourselves about these things, sometimes there’s an exception that blows you away. It’s worth keeping an open mind.
