I do (M) I prefer hardcore especially stuff from 93, to me that was the golden era. When the scene split in 94 I did like the early happy hardcore up until mid 95. I listened to drum & bass/jungle until about 99.

Drum and bass is drum and bass. Wether it’s liquid or heavy, commercial or underground it all sounds good.

"The Prodigy is commercial drum & bass, completely different to underground drum & bass. "

The Prodigy really isn't drum and bass. Their earlier stuff was Hardcore rave and later a breakbeat sound. Nothing that you'd call commercial either, even through they're huge.

It was commercial because it was in charts.

I wouldn't even say The Prodigy is even Drum n Bass, absolutely fuckin awesome whatever they are (were) tho!

Music is music commercial or underground I don't think it matters as long as the person who's listening to it enjoys it, its good music

Being in the charts doesn't mean you're commercial. Commercial music is made purely to make money. Not something the Prodigy could be accused of

Big City Life isn’t drum & bass in my eyes.

Look up Concept 2 Cause N Effect, that is what I called decent drum & bass.

I used to go to a lot of d&b nights as a good friend dj'd and worked for Good Looking so I got to see a lot of great acts and meet a few lovely people.

Do remember trying to have a conversation with DJ Marky and Patife at Fabric whislst they waited for my friend's set to finish, the music volume and language barrier proved n obsatcle.

Bar Rumba on a Thursday was always good fun if a little cramped
