After spending a fair while in married quarters whilst I served. You kind of know what they are like and those in the know know lol. Certain furniture, carpets, magnolia walls etc !
Whilst looking through profiles and pics, it often makes me wonder how many folks on here are forces folk. I know one of my last postings at the time, swinging was rife on the patch and some fantastic times were had !
Anyone else thought this ? |

They should rename this place the Forces Swingers. 90% of the single guys I’ve spoken to /met are military |

I think the worst was waking up next to a woman after a hazy d*unken night....looking across the bed and seeing a photo of her with her hubby, and he's wearing mess dress, usually with a crown or a coat of arms on his sleeve.
Cue getting rigged up and bomb bursting out the house, avoiding detection while doing E&E out the married quarters. |

I have never been on an army base (not counting the best kebab house in Cyprus, which just happens to be on a base) so I have absolutely no point of reference, but I absolutely love that all of you - who apparently don't know each other - seem to have encountered completely identical army wives wherever you've been. |

Ha ha, there certainly was a stereotype back in the day.
Which is a bit unfair. Obviously not all Pads wives were the same, but there certainly was a lot of them that abided to the stereotype quite well.
The Ron Hill bottoms (blue with a thin red stripe down the leg) was typical |

"I know a few family and friends that like magnolia walls, but have never served in the forces."
Magnolia is common in a lot of homes.
The giveaway is the furniture and usually certain ornaments/photos/plaques |

Magnolia walls complete with the thinnest skirting board you can buy, blue or the beige ”hard wearing" carpet and those cheap and nasty dark coloured interior doors signal a patch house.
Back on camp living now so can spy an SLA bathroom and blue duvet cover a mile off.
Never had fun on the patch and a lot of military wives are grim especially with a standard help for heroes hoody on. Did hear rumours especially about the choir lot when they went away and remember lots of cheating going on.
Bumped into loads of current and ex collegues on here. |

It was in the forces that I first learned about fab. One of the lads living in the married quarters was heavy into cuckolding and I had never heard that term before until someone in the JRC explained it to me one night. Lol. |
