"Mixing with friends, and through contact ads in a newspaper named Loot."
Snap, Loot was fabulous for getting anything and everything.
There was also a swingers booklet that you had to order, can't remember the name |

You would write a proper note in best handwriting, possibly being coquettish along the lines of 'would you like to fuck us if so contact......
Then you put the letter in an envelope marked with the box number and send it in another envelope to the publisher who would then remove the outer envelope and send it to the box of your choice. You then wanted for what seemed like forever hoping for a reply, which if it came may well cause a minor mental breakdown.

In the 1960s and early 1970s it was word of mouth down the local pub about house parties which couples would swap partners using the keys in the bowl method, was fun but caused a few broken marriages. |

I've said this before. I used to work for a publication that among other things, ran these ads and operated the po boxes.
Some people sent Polaroids and didn't bother to seal the inner envelope, often the pictures came out of and some poor unfortunate had the job of putting them back in. |

we used to meet after sams photos were published in various mens mags, about 30yrs ago, fan mail was sent on to us, from one mag, we would spend hours reading all the letters and deciding a few to meet, but always replied, even if we werent meeting them, just to thank them for the interest and kind words about her pics. |
