Colostomy bags in the bedroom...

Jump to: Newest in thread

So after a very long battle with a very nasty illness, I've finally been booked in for some life changing surgery that will see me end up with a colostomy bag in a couple of weeks.

I'm just curious whether a colostomy bag would be a deal breaker in the bedroom for some of you? Or if you yourself have one, how are you getting on with it, both in the bedroom and outside of it?

I am so self conscious of actually having this done and am also really struggling with the thought of my sex life being well and truly over at the ripe old age of 25... maybe I am overthinking, but I just feel talking about it as much as I can and hearing peoples points of view before the surgery might make things easier for me once I've actually had it done, hence me posting this.

Thanks everyone.

Debauchery

I personally would not have a problem with it, I don’t think it would factor In My sexual attraction to someone.

*Deleted last msg as missed a word out duh

I'm sorry to hear about your illness battle, you're a warrior.

I wouldn't have any issues with it, I might have some questions before hand just to make sure I didn't do anything wrong, hurt you, or to know what to do if something did go "wrong", but that would be it.

And to be honest, if someone did have a problem with it, then they are not worth your time and it's a good way to people out. And whilst I can't understand where you're coming from, not having a bag myself, I can sympathise with your concerns, but im 100% sure there are plenty of support groups out there and hopefully people on here who can relate.

You need time initially to get your head around it and feel comfortable and confident with it. There will be some who wont feel at ease with it and that's no reflection on them. You should get information and counselling to support you. All the very best

Don't have one and would have no issue with a potential partner having one if I found them otherwise attractive.

Best of luck young man. Hope your surgery goes smoothly and you're back in the saddle soon x.
