Asking for face pics

As we all get messages asking for a face pic as the first order of business but it seems strange to me. It's not that I have a problem with it, I completely understand why. What I find odd is that someone is asking to see your face but hasn't shown you theirs to start. Personally I'd like to see a change to a 'Hi, this is us' way of working and 'Let us know what you think and send one in return'.

Completely agree... I'm fed up of people insisting on a face pic when they don't even have one themselves!! I won't show anyone till I trust them, and even then only on cam.. That's my choice, I think people should respect that. |

i think whoever sends the first message should send a face pic first, tho i have one on my profile its not very clear so i have a better one in my private pics i send, if i message someone first i send it, if someone messages me first i would expect them to send me one, what annoys me are people with no pics at all mailing me to ask if i have any more pics  |

I guess if you're in the camp that sends a face pic with every initial message then you can justify this argument.
That said - in nearly 4 years on Fab I've never sent one with the few messages I send, rarely received one with an initial message, and much prefer to establish if I have common interests with someone before worrying about swapping pics. Even then I tend to say a quick hi on cam to those that are willing - but will only tend to send face pics out at the point that we're seriously contemplating a meet.
The alternative of course if you're messaging someone local is a face to face social for a drink or coffee . Even if you decide not to play or continue messaging - provided you're not an arse and can hold a decent conversation there's the chance of a 'meet in person' veri. Something a lot of guys state they struggle to get and hence aren't taken seriously on site .
The swapping of face pics is not the be all and end all of enjoying yourself on here and getting meets! |

we won't meet a guy without seeing what they look like and wouldn't expect a guy to meet us without seeing what Kas looks like:-its not a blind dating site |

I think the genuine folk are cautious about sending them out as we all are, in order to maintain privacy.
Decent people won't demand them and work on building up trust so you feel at ease doing so. |

This is not a problem unique to Fab !
The reasons are simple :
- people want to see if they know you
- people want to see if they fancy you
- people want to perve / wank over your pics
The net outcome is :
- people want to you to compromise your privacy whilst holding on to their own
My simple response to this is 'NO'
I will not play games or jump through hoops to satisfy the curiosity of others.
If I am interested in someone I will send a message with pics attached.
If they don't like they can reply back as appropriate, ignore, delete or block.
I am not arsed what the response is, because the decision to send was mine and mine alone.
On the other hand if someone contacts me without pics and asks to see mine, the response is simple 'you made the contact, you show first'
If they are not happy with that then fair enough but the messages will end there.
Profiles that state DO NOT MESSAGE ME UNLESS YOU ATTACH A FACE PIC are an instant turn off and even if I was curious about her, him or them, I would not message.
Being asked is one thing. Being TOLD is another. |

The profile is hidden as currently I am not actively seeking meets.
When I am, it will be back up and in full flunter.
Not seeking meets does not mean that I cannot utilise the sites other functions or comment on the threads within the forums. |

We will always ask for a face pic but its normally after a couple of emails, then we would like to see you/them, we would send some through as well. living in Guernsey we have to be careful as some people are just interested in who is swinging in Guernsey.

I had a few mails from a chap today with no pics at all. They seemed nice enough, but the no pics was a complete turn off. They had a professional job, but then how many of us on here would like our boss, neighbour, parents, pet hamster to see what we get up to?
I wasn't keen on lucky dip, even as a kid. |

If a profile grabs our attention enough for us to send a mail we would normally start with saying we liked their profile then we would ask if they wanted to swap face pics.
If we're ignored then no harm done, we haven't sent out our pics for nothing.
If they answer yes then we'll be happy to send ours first.
It's worked well for us and more times than not if they reply pics are attached anyway. |

My rule is: if the person contacts me first then I expect a face pic with the first message. If I then decide that I may want to meet I reply with a face pic; if I make the first contact then I send a face pic first so they can decide if they want to meet me or not.
If not, in either case, the second person has no need to send a face pic. |

I think the person making the first move should send a face pic. Then if the receiver wishes to chat they return theirs, if not it means not interested.

I've found out that even when people look at my profile, they still don't read a single word, only pan down to see our public pix. Then we get a ton of friend invites not having a clue who the other person is since they don't have any photos themselves.
Seems like they only want to be "friends" so they can see the private photos and not truely intrested in a meet or chat. ESP when it's right after being on a chat cam.
I ask for a body or face photo, "G" rated, clothed as if going out to dinner type photos. If we arrange a meet, I can't walk around lifting skirts or dropping pants to see if their genitals match the XXX rated photos they have.
If they truly want to meet, and intrested, they will send photos. |
