there seems to be lots of married men playing without their wifes knowing,we wondered if many women play without their husbands knowing

Plenty. Main difference is women rarely seek validation on the forums.

That's probably true, if only because single men significantly outnumber single women on here. Strangely enough, I only look at the single woman profiles
