BBM is the only USP Blackberry has over iOS or Android so if you love it then don't move.
Apple offer iMessage which is technologically the same thing, i.e. internet based messaging but isn't as 'social' as BBMing.

"Slap yourself in the head. Blackberry is shit. The only two realistic options right now are iphone 5 or samsung s3 depending on which one appeals more."
Haha! As a fan if both you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.
See BB10 latest model, BB is the only truly secure mobile transmission for secure data. iPhone is also secure where as android devices are susceptible to virus attacks as seen recently!
Don't get me wrong android are fun devices but cheaply made and look like toys in a crèche.
Nokia are looking interesting again.
During my 10years in the industry gsmarena.com was considered a reasonable place to get the facts in devices.
Google BlackBerry or RIM to see just how well they are now doing and expected to do |

I have an iPhone 5 and have had no problems at all with it. Great sound, battery, lightweight, still fits in my pocket. Never had an iPhone before.
You will get people who prefer one device over another. You really need to go and look at them, read re_iews and see which YOU prefer |

The only experience I've had with a Blackberry is with my daughters, who've often wanted to throw them at the nearest immovable object due to them just going AWOL (the phones, not my daughters).
I've owned an iPhone since the first one came out and have never had any problems with them, it's been a fun little gadget.
All phones have their pros and cons, and which one you choose depends on what you need it for, but I'll give the Apple product a 10/10 from personal experience. |

I have a blackberry for work - 1 out of 5! hate it with it's stoopid tiny keys. Much prefer my iphone - 5 out of 5, but then I use it for just about everything other than making calls! |

Blackberry 7 is shit. I mean, it just is, it's antiquated and horrid. The only people who buy it are tweenagers who want to use BBM to chat with their friends (clearly because they've never heard of other messaging systems), and men in suits who want to force them onto their staff due to the high end corporate management features at that end. Those corporate devices get thrown in a drawer and ignored, because as I said, Blackberry 7 is shit.
Blackberry 10 *might* be good, on paper. But it's hard to tell right now, for two reasons - because it's not out yet (so everything is based on guesswork) and because apps are rather important to users these days, and BB10 is gonna ship with almost no apps.
How many people want a smartphone with barely any apps? It's not a problem unique to BB10, either. If it's not Android or iPhone, it has no apps. |

Lol. Just as a note i'm an iphone user. On 3GS until I get my May upgrade. I'm probably gonna aim for the 5 but I have a couple of Samsung fanboys at work that keep telling me to go for the S3 instead. Hopefully i'll be the one laughing if their phones get viruses. They seem to talk it up like it's the best thing since slice bread. |

Also I don't know what i'm talking about? Look how many other people know that Blackberry is shit compared to the iphone. It's a pile of wank with fiddly buttons to boot.
And the BBM thing which seems to be it's biggest selling point is moot considering you can message for free on other devices anyway. |

iPhone everytime ....
BUT - go for the 4, not 5 - else you can't dock it onto most stations etc on the market without having to spend more cash on adaptors ....
I love my iPhone, but because I have 5 docks, many chargers, connecting cables and in car kits etc, I'll never upgrade to the 5 ... |

Personally I will stick with the Iphone, not interested in the chat facilities and blackberry has keys whereas mine doesn't which helps my RSI immensely |

a good barometer is the kids who are 14,15,16 yrs old - they want whats 'hip' and does what they need it to do, e.g. be social. At the minute, they are ditching their BB's and opting for Apple or Android.
Personally, I have always thought BB were crap, yes they offer secure messaging, but that is it, their app store is limited, their operating system is crap and I still dont see BB10 making much of a difference.
I am a bit of an Apple whore, Mac, iPad and Iphone - never had one problem with any of them, they integrate better than any other devices I have owned and sharing between them is soooo easy.
If its your first foray into smartphones, get the 5, its slimmer, lighter and a slightly bigger screen than the 4 or 4s |

I have had android phones in past but in oct'11 I went with apple with 4s only one problem with it in15 months and that was because cell went down early on when using it.
I yet admit I am an apple fan boy
iPod touch
iPod classic
iPhone 4S
Mac mini 2011 version with 4gb ram i7
Ipad 2 64 gb now with mum
Dad has ipad mini with 16 gb
Ipad 4 with 64 gb and Tina screen
My only critisicim with the apple products is they battery life....but other than that I would recommend |

Both apple fans here, But to be honest, we only use them to surf the web, texting and calling. Pretty sure we could pick up any touch screen phone and be happy with it for our uses. |

I love my S3, I would never even contemplate the iphone, especially after what Apple said to Bruce Willis about leaving his equipment in his will.
Imo, Apple has got far too big for it's boots, they need to realise that when people buy things from them, they become THEIR property to do with as they please, the way they are behaving is like saying that if you get in a strop with your crappy iphone and destroy it, they are as good as saying that you've caused criminal damage and could TRY to prosecute you for doing so because it's not really yours ... what a bag of sh*te |

As I said fan of both, BB jumped into the touch market far to quickly and suffered for it, but they still have over 41mil customers, the new 10 has been tested by the people who know what's what and has lifted the share value vastly.
It's the only system that offers totally secure mail facilities, which is favoured by governments. It's despised by those who want to access your messages such as middle east regions because RIM won't allow then access to their servers.
Samsungs, htc's all look and feel like kiddy phones! Not just my opinion. Especially with the size of some of them!
I mean who calls an operating system jellybean?
Some of the Windows based are looking reasonable Nokia lumina
And as for iPhone sticking with my 4 for the moment, although I've just bought an i5 8Gb 1Terra laptop on Windows 8 and found out iTunes isn't fully compatable for sync purposes yet! Come on apple pull your fingers out!
