What's the unwritten rule, when someone asks for a guest list of a party you're organising. I would assume it's a no no, or do people not care?

I would want to know otherwise I've arranged babysitters and prepared myself for a party when there could be noone there I'd wanna play with. My time is precious and I don't want to waste it....
