I shoot clays (no puns intended) occasionally and getting more hooked. I normally shoot long range target 600m,1000m and pistol comps. I’m ex forces shooting team. Give me any firearm and 10 rounds to zero and I’m good to compete

How about a non maintained mosin with a shot out muzzle and some 1940s surplus 7.62x57r

Ha ha I’d be more worried about a shot through barrel than muzzle.

Legally you are allowed to own a pistol as long as either you have a Section 5 for humane dispatch in which the pistol can be un modified. If owning on a normal license then the barrel has to be 12” long OR overall length no less than 24”. Muzzle loaders are exempt

There are illegal firearms, they don't have to comply with any laws and regulations.

If the muzzle and crown are fucked you ain't hitting anything, unless you counterbore of course

Highly unlikely to get section 5 for humane dispatch. Usually a 2 shot revolver or .410 pistol held on section 1.

They don't tend to hold illegally possessed comps though

Target shooting has to either be with section 1 long barrel revolver, long barrel pistol or muzzle loader which does include modern frame and barrel but the cylinder is loaded instead of using awlf contained cartridge, section 5 authority is rarely granted to us common folk so almost pointless mentioning it, section 7 is another way but this is only really for research and is heritage pistol authority.

They don’t shoot back … but they do fight back!

…. I’ve seen head and facial injuries a few times when shooters get hit by shards of broken clays!
