As a bareback couple (get your pitch forks out) we test regular, and we expect those we meet to do the same, we know the test is only accurate from the time of testing blah blah yawn etc.
But…..
We was just arranging a meet with a guy who noticed we posted our latest results, when we asked when his last test was, he replied, I don’t get tested I always use condoms normally!!
This is not a one off, this seems to be quite a common then we have noticed in the 20 years we have been swinging.
we just don’t get it, even before we played bare, we still got reg checks, not testing when your a swinger is just disrespectful. You can order nhs kits online!!

Some people think condoms mean 100% safe. They don't. I use condoms, and still have regular tests.
People can be irresponsible with their sexual health regardless of condoms or bareback. |

Sexual health is like nearly everything in life a complex issue that cannot be boiled down to condoms and testing. Both help although testing is clearly not as preventative as the use of condoms in the majority of std’s and the spreading of. Reading up and identifying those in the highest risk groups would prob be as affective as using condoms (highly speculative) but to do so you would have to indulge in classism, racism and agism - not a great look. Condoms remain a pretty decent and evidentially proven way to prevent getting and spreading stds. Testing and bareback is always going to be lesser of an either or choice but both would clearly be to gold standard?
PS I don’t use condoms rarely fuck (bi) and get regularly test.
PPS I use Sexual Health London who supply self test kits for free that you can collect or be sent by post. |

We use the Blackpool NHS service that send free test kits out including blood testing.

We've found the same OP, people will do occasional bareback but won't bother to get tested.
We are a bareback couple and I see other men sometimes for MM meets, these are also bareback.
I take daily Prep and we both get tested every three months. Home testing kits are easy and discreet.
It really is worth making every effort to reduce the risk of us passing anything on to others. |

Exactly. We know our bareback play does carry risks. But we try to minimise them as best we can.
But to say you don’t need testing cause you use condoms is dangerous. We would rather meet tested bareback players than untested “safe” players |

We only play safe (not trying to shame anyone who likes BB play at all) but still engage in regular testing.
It's crazy to think of the numbers of people who don't test. Asymptomatic infections are no joke and, at the end of the day, you've only got one set of genitalia so should be making sure you look after it!
Not only that but, as OP says, it's very wreckless/disrespectful to engage in swinging for yourself and all others involved without regular testing.

"I play safe, and test every month. Local authority do online mail order for home testing so really couldn’t be any easier. "
Our local auth won’t allow test frequency of a month. We can do 3 monthly. |

My health is my responsibility and wouldn’t rely on other people getting tested or not or trust their recent results. It’s the risk we take having sex with strangers. That’s why always play with condom and gets regularly tested. X |

Not entirely true. My area does not do online order for kits.
Saying that though, the staff at the sexual health clinic have suggested I take in my own mug for my coffee. I get tested regularly as well as on request and insist on recent clear tests before meeting, be the intent bare or condom. |

I thought sh24.org.uk covered the whole of the UK. Are you getting 'computer says no' when you enter your address?
This really is the easiest testing option out there, quick, efficient and discrete. |

You can get an online free test kit from sh:24, which is NHS funded. Take the samples at home post off to them and they text you your results |

I thought they did too. I know they only have a certain number of tests a day to send out so you can sometimes get a reply that no tests available |

But pointless to get tested monthly to be honest. The 'window' is generally 3mths as that's how long it can take for some STI's to show up. So you could be getting a false negative |

this is the message i get.
Why isn’t SH:24 available?
At the moment, we’re commissioned by over 40 local councils, NHS Trusts and healthcare services across the UK to provide free sexual and reproductive health services. This means we’re not yet available everywhere, to everyone.
The services we offer, where we offer them and who we can offer them to are all decided by the local commissioners.
At SH:24 we believe that everyone should have easy access to sexual and reproductive health services. And we’ll keep working with NHS Trusts, local councils and other partners across the UK to make this happen. |

Sb24 don't deliver to Noth Devon. I have tried, but my local clinic are very helpful and I prefer the test done by a professional. |

They don't cover my area either. However I've ordered a free home test kit from Umbrella.
