We may be overthinking this one or just being picky, but does anyone get put off by the background distractions in pics? Most common currently is untidy rooms and children’s toys in plain view. For us this is a straight turn off! Wanted to hear other people’s opinions?

Yes I end up drawn to the mess rather than the photo.

There's lots of good blur/remove background Apps that are easy to use too.

Totally understand kids are messy but least throw their toys in the corner before taking pics.

The ones with a toilet bowl in the background. It's just bonkers.

Most definitely. I think the state of the background tends to be a reflection of the person.

Absolutely! We have actually changed our minds about meeting people because of the backgrounds of photos they shared.

Yea the same with us. We posted this to kind of justify the decision. His verifications sounded good and chat was flowing but just a red flag in our eyes.

I hate selfies taken on front of a mirror, where you can see the phone and the mirror

So annoying when they can just turn the camera round and take a decent photo.

"I know what will work, a badly shot picture of my dick taken in a toilet" says over half the guys who message my wife.

It amazes us how amazingly bad so many of the pictures are, given the point of them is to encourage us to sleep with them.

Two things that make me feel a bit sad are when I see pictures on a man's profile where he's obviously got his arm draped round a woman but he's just scribbled her out as if she's nothing and action shots on a profile where I know they're married, partner unaware it's like rubbing their partners nose in it.

Absolutely you can often learn more about somebody by the background than the actual subject of the picture.

If I'm out for a meet pics are easy to take good ones in different settings but at home with a family it's when & where we get the chance, so we blur backgrounds mostly.

Manchester(ish).

I've been know to give feedback on unsolicited dick pics. Along the lines of.

"Goodness me, did you choose that wallpaper".

"I'd give that loo a scrub if I were you".

"Is that your laundry?"

Goes down a treat

Sometimes you need a mirror to take a full length picture.

In selfie mode you just end up with a kind of "MySpace angle" type pic that people use to take to strategically hide the rolls p

I love snooping in the background of photos! All the faces are blurred but the wedding photo of the 'single guy' is right behind him... There was one couple who took a load of action pics in their living room with their young kids school photos in the background

Messy backgrounds are a killer for us. We always try and at least kick the dirty washing pile out of shot for ours

The backgrounds tell me more about the people than the profile - the non smokers with full ashtrays are a classic! Also photos in kitchens with European power sockets is a huge red flag...

So please, keep the messy backgrounds so I can snoop!
