"Maybe a bit of a trek but I recommend townhouse in Wirral. The staff are great at showing you around and are about the club all night. They do a newbie event as well"
We don’t mind driving as we will make it a night/couple nights away anyway |

"What is peoples recommendations for first club visit? I.e which one, what sort of event to attend, what to wear for both of us and also as first timers what to expect "
We're Stamford so almost local to you so the clubs we've tried ought to be within reach of you:
Quest (Leeds) - really friendly, dress down all through the club, lots of play rooms and a cinema, small hottub but also has a steam room and jacuzzi. Good value and open lots of daytimes.
Liberty Elite (Lutterworth) - good facilities, onsite accommodation (though not cheap!), good hottub and open play areas plus individual rooms upstairs. Was a bit "old fashioned" the only time we went (a year ago) in that it seemed very straight.
Penthouse Playrooms (Dunstable) - very big, very plush, mostly individual play rooms though some a bigger than others, two small hottubs, really nice (but noisy) bar/dance area. Seemed full of shiny beautiful people who all knew each other but that might have been us being shy!
The Annex (Kings Lynn) is small and mostly individual rooms, though they are all really nicely done out. The bar/social area is a bit too small though and we've not found that the "choice" of clientele and layout that good for how we play.
JayDees (St Neots area) is bigger, good sized dancefloor, nice social area with a kitchen to make your own (free) hot drinks. Good size hottub and lots of private rooms. Couples area and open play area upstairs, and dress down everywhere it seems. We did, however, find it couple-heavy and a little cliquey and the crowd a bit older. However they seem to be repositioning themselves towards a younger, more dance/music based clientele.
Vanilla Alternative (St Neots area) is our club of choice. Nice facilities, good sized hottub, nice bar and dancefloor, good sized couples room. All open play, though - just one bed with a curtain for privacy. We normally go Wednesday daytime's and it's a very mixed bunch but the single guys are always respectful. Dress down all through the club if you want.
All clubs have their good and bad points and how you like to play will have a big impact on what you feel about a club. Unfortunately it's a case of trying them all and seeing where you feel most comfortable.
