For some people, any reaction is a plus.
Even if it is just people looking at their profile, and then giving constructive criticism (ripping it to shreds)
I'd be interested if those who actually take the advice get an improved fab experience |

"When someone posts one of those self-pity forum replies or status updates...
Has that ever worked for anyone?"
They work for me…that is to say, when someone posts one, I know to block them straight away! |

It's unlikely. The fab forum in general rarely take the time to look behind the words to the frustration and confusion that lies behind them, mainly because its usually single men posting that kind of thing. The advice is normally to accept it and get over it (there's not really an alternative I suppose) although some do take the time to explain why certain things are as they are on fab.
However should a single woman post something similar the collective advice is normally that men are bastards and she is beautiful.

I read the reviews from others who had used this site, it was very informative knowing what to expect. |
