This is an actual radio conversation of a U.S naval ship with Canadian Authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October 1995. Radio conversation was released by the chief of naval operations 10/10/95
CANADIANS: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid collision.
AMERICANS: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the north to avoid collision.
CANADIANS: Negative..You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.
AMERICANS: This is the captain of a U.S naval ship. I say again, divert your course.
CANADIANS: No, I say again, you divert your course.
AMERICANS: This is the Aircraft Carrier U.S LINCOLN, the second largest ship in the United States Atlantic Fleet. We are accompanied with three Destroyers, three Cruisers and numerous support vessels. I DEMAND that you change your course 15 degrees north, I say again, thats one five degrees north, or counter measures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship.
CANADIANS: This is a lighthouse. Your call. |

It doesn't matter. Much of the fake nonsense on the net is designed to scare or con people.
This is a bit of light-hearted fun and, perhaps more importantly, is completely believeable. |

What is true is that in the 60s in the early days of the space race the Americans spent 10000 dollars on research on a pen which could work with zero gravity. Where the ink would still get to the nib even if the pen was used upside down............the Russians used a pencil |

I'm pretty sure it cost millions and its why the ball point pen was invented.
The Russians also sent a dog Into space ( Sputnik ) for the first trip around the moon. They were in so much of a rush to lead the space race they had noway of the dog getting back to earth. So it was a one way trip for him ! |
