Chatlines, Yahoo groups, MSN?
Old school ways of meeting like minded others, I had my own place at 18 and have always enjoyed the company of others so discovered multiple ways of meeting others like me! Had some great and some strange encounters 
Met a really hot, curvy girl on a chatline, pre photo messaging and agreed to meet for sex after chatting. She sounded really nice on the phone and we were both looking for the same thing. I remember seeing a couple in cam somewhere too, and realising I knew them, they liked to share, show off and be watched but didn't meet. I remember meeting couples as a single man via personal adds in the free adds papers (long since killed off by the internet) in the early 90s. I still remember my first meet with a couple in who lived in the middle of nowhere somewhere near Pembroke Dock. It was a strange experience sending off actual photographs and then waiting for a reply. Telephone chat lines were also productive but expensive. MSN chat where you could create your own little chat room with a title and wait for people to join was also great for meeting people. MSN groups are my favourite though because that’s how I met my partner, mother of my children and love of my life! |

Can remember yahoo groups. Also yahoo messenger.
I met a couple from Guernsay, whose wife showed me how to access her computer via messenger and teamviewer.
Then she said, fairs fair. I want to see what you saved. Even though, she told me at the beginning, I wasn't allowed to save any pics.
Freaked me out and took me a week or two to trust her fully.
About 5 or 10 years later we all including her hubby, finally met up for an evening of fun, which they filmed. |

Freeserve chat was great.Met a few girls off there, one became quite serious. When it first started it was the age of dial up, ages getting on,auto disconnect after a couple of hours and 1p a minute.Would be on there ages and my phone bill was massive lol |

i remember going to the erotica festival back in 2000 and there was a seminar for someone who was trying to sell 0898 numbers as an "investment opportunity". You'd "buy" an 0898 number then they'd provide you with recordings to play on it... but to get people to dial the number you'd bought you needed a advertising package to be sold to youso the number was publicised
The whole thing seemed to be a scam designed to sell advertising in the back of porn mags and the daily sport.... some of you will remember these had literally hundreds of adverts for porn lines. |

I would have called them chat rooms and not chat lines. Chat lines are 090 numbers that cost £2 a min to hear Marge tell you how nice your cock is while you spank off.

It reminds me a little of the weird chat and date Freeview channels that were around a few years ago. Occasionally I'd watch the conversations that'd go on between the regulars. Some of them must have spent thousands texting in. |

oh IRC!! ong I had some great meets with people off there. One particular one was a married woman from Bolton who Id been chatting to for ages finally came to mine, even though I had broken leg and in plaster. Anyway we had plenty of fun togethwr and then she went back home. Yes I met a woman from one once. I loved them.
One I remember was called jump chat where you could talk one to one and others where people would chat in group chats.
On one group chat I got chatting with a clever man who would get what he called "back door numbers" they were freephone numbers which you could call the premium rate numbers on for free. I would spend hours on them everyday. |
