I (Sasha) briefly messaged someone who then sent some excellent photos. I thought he was hot  (a rare occurrence) and couldn’t wait to show Roger.
I go back to the inbox and his message is gone, along with our sent message. Now we’re looking for bi guys so our Rog wouldn’t dirty delete.
Where did the hot guy go?
Did I just dream him up 
On a serious note, if people delete their account do messages disappear…?
I can’t figure it out.

Yes, the only way the message would disappear from sent and inbox is if they’ve left the site.
As even if one of you deleted the sent and inbox then you’d still be able to find them on here.
If not, they’ve gone…a figment of your imagination

Yes if they delete their account every message goes, what I do, is save one of someone's messages, then if they leave the site it says "user no longer on site"  |

Just see it as someone who’s saved you some time as they weren’t ever going to meet if they flaked now…x |
