Who's got their tree and decorations up

Jump to: Newest in thread

village life, closest main town inverness

So who's got them up already

And....

Who goes all the way,

whole hog, masses of lights and decorations everywhere

Or are you more reserved with a few tastefully chosen and precisely placed displayed pieces

Yes as my children wanted it up. Nothing but a tree, no tinsel allowed.

Ours went up mid-Nov as we then went to Costa Rica for 2 weeks and I didn’t fancy doing it all when we got home.

Best decision

Put mine up today, not long finished. We don't go over the top, just a few decorations other than the tree. Nothing outside apart from the wreath.

I couldn't be arsed. I just enjoy the few relaxing days around Christmas. I won't even go too mad on the cooking. It's not worth the hassle.

Ryde

Had them all up in readiness for the grand switch-on when Dec 1st came along.

Every bulb is LED, so as to keep the costs down. It's hardly Griswald-levels of Christmas lighting, but still quite a few. Nice to hear little kids get excited at them as they walk past!

I put mine up last week it’s a string of flashing tyrannosaurus Rex’s with Santa hats on. Just need to get some tinsel for the house plants now. I always go way OTT but I just love Christmas

Led is the way to go

And I agree with you about the little ones loving it when they see places putting on a good display, adds to the excitement of it all

Have changed our profile picture to the one taken last year, of me decked in fairy-lights.

I still have a slight burn on one of my tits from the (surprisingly hot) lights!

Newry Down

If there are any children living in the house, and they have been brought up from infancy with the traditional Christian Christmas routine, it is important to make them feel part of the festival, but I don't bother anymore because I live alone, and I have far more productive aspects of my life to focus on, over Christmas and the New Year.
