She limits why do we have them?
Jump to: Newest in thread
After visiting clubs and having the pleasure of meeting some really nice people I’m surprised especially with age discrimination we still have an age limit choice on fab.
Over the last couple of months after actually meeting people and not just been blinked by pics on their profiles. Iv been shocked at some stunning peoples figures and their ages (people that i previously would have discounted because I thought were too old)
age is just a number
Profile pics can be deceiving, good and bad
People that have age range 30 to 45 are missing out
We don’t have the ability to search by body type so why age |

Would you like to search by body type op?
Which would you prefer if you could only search for people on here by either of those two choices. Age or body type? |

My She limit is 6, never meet more than 6 ladies in one day
On a serious note age limits are useful thing i feel, cant see the harm in them In one way it stops ladies / couples getting loads of mails from people they wouldnt meet |

I never understand when people have 18 to 99 as an age filter? Any 99 year old on here?
Some people have age filters because they have adult children and don’t want to knowingly meet someone the same age or younger than their children.
We’re all entitled to our preferences |

Because some people aren’t attracted to people over a certain age…
I’m sure if some found you attractive, a year or a two out of their age range might be some give or take. But generally you set your age range because you have a preference.
Not sure why anyone would leave it at 18-99. |

And also I don't want to meet someone old enough to be my dad |

No one is missing out on anything if they don't want to fuck someone for whatever reason .
I have age filters on for two reasons one to cut down on messages. I found when I was first on that most of the abusive messages I got were from people outside my age filters especially on the lower end of them. So I upped my age filters and abusive messages have virtually stopped now. Two I prefer people around my own age and if I see someone outside of those that I've set on here I can and have sent a first message anyhow.
The whole age is just a number is a line that people use to try and persuade others that they are being ageist usually and almost as though they are trying to guilt them into dropping or raising theirs. It is usually said by men on here or couples where one is in their late 40s upwards. Because they want to meet others who have them filtered out. It would be easier to concentrate on those who's preferences you fall within than to concentrate on those who exclude you.
And while yes in clubs and real life age might not be the first thing asked or even asked at all but I know I personally prefer men closer to my own age and anyone young enough to look like they could have been my son or old enough to look like they would be old enough to be my father I still would avoid. |

Ours has been left at 18-99 because age is of no preference to us, it depends on the person |

Age does matter to some and not others, personally I don't want to meet anyone young enough to be my child or old enough to be my mother, I mean there's some exceptions to the age range if we've stuff in common, I can safely say I doubt I could hold a conversation or find an 18yo sexually attractive it feels wrong.

Because alot us don't want to be meeting younger people who are close in age to our children. And under 25s haven't fully matured.
I also don't want to meet people that much older than me for various reasons... |

You know what I’d like? Body type definitions! For example “athletic: defined muscularity, body fat below xyz, complete regular excercise or sports”.
Something like that so that people know which body type to select on their profile.
I’m starting to get annoyed by catfish profile details. |

I think it's fairly obvious that meeting people in a club people are potentially likely to be far more fluid with their preferences than online because face to face chemistry is arguably the biggest factor |

The flaw in that suggestion is that my marathon runners physique ticks all those boxes while being very different to someone gymfit?
The descriptions are always going to be subjective |

How can some folk not understand that many of us simply don't find people old enough to be our parents and in some cases grandparents attractive?

Someone better than me could write the descriptions. It removes a lot of the subjectivity.
I’ve seen so many “athletic” or “average” when the person is quite clearly obese. It would be much easier to call them out on their intentionally catfishing if there was a clear definition.
I know it’s a controversial subject but it’s one that annoys me. I’m always getting blank profiles messaging me and when they eventually send a photo they are not as described at all |

It isn't discrimination though. My body isn't a public space and I am entitled to exclude people based on whatever criteria I personally choose.
I don't want to sleep with people old enough to be my dad. And I'm not attracted to people younger than me.
Just because you choose age isn't a number doesn't mean that should apply to others.
If you identify as a straight man, then surely a dick is just a body part. |

i think its a simple question to answer really .. we have age range because we do lol thats it of course those outside peoples ranges that they like will moan but its there for a reason ..
my age range is 30 to 60 but because i know there will be some exception ive gone a little higer and lower to cover ..
as for not asking age in clubs well i think thats generally people know roughtly how old people are (tho there will be exceptions |

You can search for 81 years of an age difference.
OP would you have sex with a 99 year old? That's why we can search with age.
With body sizes what is medium to you could be slim to someone else and what is medium could be fuller figure to another. |

No I'm not. If I see someone over 45 I'm interested in I'll message them. No point in getting hundreds of messages from 30s and 45s if you're not interested in them.
Age is definitely not just a number. I look and move nothing like I did when I was 30 and i wouldn't expect any man to fuck me who isn't into 57 year olds. |

Do yiu think descriptions would stop people ticking the box they think describes them and somehow make them tick the box you think is appropriate? |

What I find funny on FAB is the amount of women that say they are only looking for tall or muscley, fit and handsome men, but if a man mentions anything about he only meets a certain body type he gets reported |

Just my thoughts…18-99 is kinda pointless..the “age is just a number “ debate goes out the window when looking at someone’s verifications and they tend to be meets with people in a fairly similar age range… |

I'm not missing out on anything. I couldn't care less how someone looks or acts if they are outside my chosen age preferences.
I'm not attracted to women the same age as my daughters so I will continue to be ageist and not feel even slightly guilty. |

So, by your argument OP, does the fact that I am only attracted to women mean that I am sexually discriminating against men?
This isn't a job application or a public service |

"So fed up of the 'age is just a number' argument. Limits are whatever we choose them to be. Having someone telling us that our limits are wrong is frankly tiresome and insulting."
