A lady messaged me a week or so ago and quickly wanted to chat on whats app.
She had no public pictures but had the photo verification.
She explained she was very senior in the British army so had to be discreet, I was bored so I thought go on then I'll play along.
We exchanged a few messages and photos and yes this person did exist in the army and yes the picture was of her, but no proof that was who I was chatting too..
Then I was asked about my fantasy I said my number one was to actually speak on what's app to a genuine person, that went over their head.
Then I decided to end the conversation, I just said if you ever ask for " help " or for money that will end any conversation, and funnily enough that's exactly what happened.
Pointless reporting the profile as the messages were mostly on what's app and the profile went unlos soon after.
Does anyone fall for these, watching television it seems they do |

I’ve had similar experiences…
Currently got someone who needs money to come down to London from Scotland for a funeral.
Been messaging for about 6 weeks…
She still needs money to be sent…
But can never talk or chat or message at the same time as I can..: |

Ive been in the same situation too. I never give out my number because people can actually get into your bank account when they get your phone number. Beware of that. Most of them tell you that they are wanting to see your face and that's why they tell you to watsaap video call. Once they get your phone number they can find out what mobile provider you are with and then somehow they find out how to get your bank details. |

There's a girl who wants me to join her and invest in a new crypto coin, really friendly. She even wants to meet up when she comes to the UK, she hasn't asked me to buy her plane ticket yet so she might be legit. Not on fab, Tweet platform. |

Yeah had similar recently, chatting to a ‘girl’ and seemed to going ok. Then she wanted to meet, I was thinking great then… oh I need $30 gaming card so my nephew has something to do when she came.
Blocked and reported. Profile is up but it does say I can’t see it so guessing it’s in the process of being taken down.
Annoying how many are fake. It’s hard enough being a guy on here without having to deal with idiots. |

I've never come across anything like that.
In fact I was just chatting with my long lost cousin who lives in Africa about it.
He's appalled that anyone would try it on.
Looking to seeing him when he eventually gets out of the country with all of his money. |

Yes people do fall for scams. Some people are just nice and trust too much.
People happily join in on "what's your mother's maiden name, your first pet, town you were born, CVV number, banking password" threads. On here and other social media sites. |

Recently chatting to a TV initially here and then on Kik.
The chats on here were fab relates, but when switched to Kik the very first message was asking me to subscribe to her relatives YouTube channel, and that if he got 1000 subscribes by today she'd get a treat.
Deleted the chat. |

If scammers or hackers have your email details they can hack into all sorts of stuff. Just by having your email they can hack into it and get your personal and financial information as well as that of your friends, family, and other contacts as so much of our e-ID is inter linked not just with our online stuff but with our contacts too. Few people use a complely separate banking email id from they're other online activities. They can then often access your phone. It's your email id that's the vulnerable acces to your more personal details like passwords, especially Google as most tend to synchronise everything through it. Few people store their passwords in a vault. |
