Blandford ish

But..

We are from a bdsm kink back ground, and as often swinging and power play kinks go hand in hand I thought I’d ask here..

Why do Dom men when visiting clubs/ events wear leather trousers and a harness?

I have no idea but I love the harness on a dom man!

I wonder if it’s just to define ‘not vanilla’ rather than where that specific outfit might fit in fetish circles.

I would think it depends on the club.

When I was first going out and about on the scene, there were strict dress codes, leather trousers passed the dress code.

Some people feel good, confident and perhaps stereotypically Dom in leather trousers.

It's all horses for courses

Honestly having been to numerous kink events over the last 10 years, leather trousers are rare, harnesses even more so.

Leather, usually dark, animal like and with a smell that is almost aphrodisiac. I have a hood that I enjoy wearing when Dom as it adds to the mystery and heightens the senses on both sides. It is power play.

Kink gear is awful for guys. It’s either cheesy, leather and chains or clothing that has a bad view of 90s gay kink clothing and stereotypes

Yet women have a range of options - imho

They don't, in the dungeon in the Attic you can see men spanking their subs and you could easily mistake them for a geography teacher. If they wear leather pants it's probably a personal kink, not a rule.

In my experience they tend to just wear all black. It’s like a sign they’re in charge. That being said they may command respect, especially if they’re a Master but that doesn’t mean they’re in charge of me. Respect and Dominance are 2 very separate things

As people have said, its individual choice. But possibly to tap into the leathermen outfit and appear old school. Leather and latex are generally accepted as fetish wear.

I have a couple of pairs leather trousers, one pair is a proper motor bike trousers and the other I call my Theophilius P.Wildebeest leather trousers, soulful but when suitably accessorised creates a good kink look. I have got into Torture Garden with them when my Victorian Gothic outfit was rejected.

Obviously I wasn’t saying it was compulsory just seems to be the thing.

I see it all the time on fet and and the few kink events I’ve been to loads of guys were in leather and lots had the harness’s so I just wondered where the link came from lol

I’ve always thought the waistcoat is popular with Doms for some reason. Perhaps Gareth Southgate is giving out signals…

It might just also be a combo of strict dress code + uninspiring outfit choices for men. The kink events I go have very strict dress codes (dressing like a geography teacher would mean you wouldn’t be allowed in the queue!) and a pair of leather or pleather trousers + harness is relatively easy.

Also I don’t think it’s just dom men. I’ve seen guys in harnesses being led on leashes, and a harness is great for manhandling a more subby guy in my experience
