Just ordered my home kit. I don't have many multiple partners, always use a condom but enjoy oral sex. How often do you get tested? How likely is it to catch sti being a regular swinger? Or people are pretty cautious these days and the number of sti cases is lower? |

My home test kit come in the post today. £75 it cost me because my area doesn’t qualify for free home kits. Madness.
I get tested every couple of months but if I’ve had more sexual activity than usual I test more often. I tend to use condom but like you I like oral play. A lot of the time though I will ask for a condom to be used for blow jobs if the woman doesn’t mind but I won’t force that upon her |

I also find that a certain brand of condom that I use. Doesn’t have the same affect as others. Ie loss of sensation and the loss of erection due to the loss of sensation. They are called skyn and readily available on Amazon |

We get tested every 15-20 days, We try and use condoms as much as possible but we both love oral (without condoms) and kissing so makes sense for us to both get tested regularly. |

Deffo can catch through oral, as we found out. Went to abfabs couple months ago, both caught gonorrhea Without even knowing for 2 weeks for the male and no signs at all for the female. Condoms were used for intercourse but not for oral with a male b and another female. So yeah easily caught, and thankfully with tests/treatment and lots of waiting also has been treatable |

You can still get oral STI’s. Gonorrhoea of the throat is a common one and on the rise. No symptoms and can be transmitted to a cock by an infected throat and can be given to a throat by an infected cock. Same thing when giving and receiving oral on a woman. Virtually no symptoms in the throat so don’t really know it’s there.
Enjoy That said it’s all about risk..it’s a smaller risk but still there |

I test every three months minimum. More often if I have *any* cause for concern.
I have in-person appointments at my local GUM clinic, because it’s difficult to get enough blood out of my fingers to make home testing possible. I promise I’ve tried every trick in the book. I’ve even had a trained phlebotomist try to help, and even they commented what a struggle it is.
It’s a bit difficult to tell what’s going on with STI prevalence at the moment because everything fell of a cliff during the pandemic – people weren’t able to get appointments, but they were also having less sex. Prior to the pandemic, however, STI diagnoses were up 5% from 2018 to 2019. That’s according to a 2020 article from the Terence Higgins Trust.

Yip. This. Get tested regularly folks especially if you play in high risk groups ..well I guess swingers are high risk groups with multiple partners. |

I test every 3 months, although I test less often if I havent been playing (Im in a dry patch right now!). I am lucky that in Wales you can get free tests.
I am super careful - I ask all my partners about the sexual history/when they last tested etc, and only have unprotexted oral sex if I am very confident we are all low risk. It can be a bit frustrating as it is restrictive, but its not worth the worry. I never have unprotected penetrative sex with casual partners.
Its good to know that different sexual acts carry different risks. Oral sex with someone with a vulva is the least risky (the risk is very very minimal), followed by oral sex with someone with a penis. Penetrative sex is much much more risky, and anal sex is the most risky of all. Sadly, you can get an sti just from kissing now, which is really frustrating. We just have to do the best we can!
You CAN still get an STI from oral sex, but the risk is much smaller. It makes a lot of sense to only have unprotected oral sex (with people who havw an up to date sti check). There is also an argument for allowing unprotexted cunnilingus but requiring a condom for fellatio.
I think the most important thing is normalising asking people about their safe sex practices. So many people just assume others are being sensible whilst other dont know much about safe sex practices and just assume they are ok. I have educated a lot of people just by starting that conversation.

Yes asking how often they test as it just takes one partner to contract an asymptomatic sti...that makes me the most nervous that you can get no symptoms |

"This is what puts me off , I get seriously turned off putting a condom on but really really do not want to catch anything at all , are most people riddled ?? I assume the worst always have ! "
It's actually not even knowing you or they are carriers is what you got to bear in mind. Plus unwanted pregnancies. Most have no symptoms at all but the health consequences can be very serious, especially for a woman |

Just got back my latest results 30 mins ago (all clear). Get tested every three months and lucky that in my area it is free and done via the post. Super efficient and discrete so that is a major win. |

You can get a dental dam, very thin sheet of latex to cover the area and lick the latex rather than the skin. Never tried one but they are available. |

I also ask if they ask others before playing/ use protection. If others are as carefully as I am, we can play much more freely, but that doesnt happen very often! |

"Just found out about the super sti which most antibiotics don't work and some are asymptomatic and
Some people just caught it touching an infected person. What a mindfield"
That’s gonorrhea that is resistant to antibiotics. Get swabbed in your mouth too as most sti tests don’t provide swabs for mouth but you can ask for them. Yes you can get it from kissing but the risk from that is so small. As someone else said the risk is smaller but it’s all about the risk profile of the person you are playing with and how prolific they are and what protection they use etc. As you aren’t just sucking off them you’re sucking off whoever else they have fucked etc. just evaluate the risk and test accordingly ..alls good

Every 3 months or between sexual partners.
Unprotected oral sex can and does lead to STI’s.
Assume everyone else is barebacking and look after yourself.
Don’t be afraid to ask to see people’s results and if they won’t share then decide if you want to take the risk. |

im amazed everyday how somepeople think condoms are safe they are not they are safer condoms go on a cock yet we all play with fingers and oral ...its simple if your a swinger/ more than one sex partner then get tested because thats the only way you know you have nothing ...
and to those who say its only as good as the day you test yep correct but at least we know if we are clear or not those of you who dont test dont have a clue as most std have no or very little affect therefore your just spreading.... testing is the best way forward even if you play safe...er

Also if they have oral gonorrhoea (that is generally asymptomatic)and perform oral sex on you they can pass it to your fanjina (women rarely have symptoms from gonorrhea or it’s mistaken for cystitis or bacterial vaginosis). As said previously risks smaller but it’s still a risk. Just stay safe and be sensible is all you can do I guess. |

But it only takes one infected asymptomatic person to pass it on to you. If you have multiple partners in a month, how do you who pass it on to you and doesn't it higher your risk of infection?! Even with fwb, seems like fab fwb means multiple partners |

All it means is testing frequently yourself, carrying out your own personal sexual health risk assessment, and not worrying about what anyone else is getting up to. If you don't ask, you don't know... And if you're not capable of making a personal informed decision, you probably should not be having sex with them |

By not worry - I mean if they've provided clean test results it's still on you to take care of your own sexual health vs relying on someone else |
