I think it is just so rude and disrespectful, why on earth would anyone know that hotels were being booked, miles and miles driven and knowing you have no intention of showing is appalling. I think if a person does this they should be reported to fab and if they do it 3 times banned from fab completely. xxx |

I guess I've been lucky as I've never had this.
I do tend to chat a lot with folk before meeting and sometimes it can be months or longer before a meet. I suppose some would consider that timewasting as it's not quick meet territory, but I consider it an investment of both our time in a future meet myself |

I think we should be allowed to name and shame, or leave bad feedback (red flag could be displayed on profile) by admin when bad feedback stating no show. Also calendar system would be good where both parties check into a calendar for date and time agreed to meet. The calendar could be used to report a no show |

Probably because they're in love with the idea of it, and thrill at the chase - then give up when it's all snagged, snared and arranged.
Who knows, they probably laugh up their sleeve at the thought of someone wasting money booking and making arrangements too, but I suspect they're too busy wanking over the thought of fecking around their next victim
Whichever it is, they want putting in a pot and boiling.

This is the way I plan my meets as well and so far, I've not had any problems, (touch wood) |

Here's a theory....
Guys on here don't talk too much but women, they do...they share good blokes and warn close friends of others. I've even heard that occasionally they get together and plot revenge on guys they feel have wronged them.
What better way than for him to think he's onto a sure thing, then piss on his bonfire? |

It's a hobby - and they are probably on a lot of sites doing the same thing there. Don't take it personally. |

People could lie. For instance I would like to leave back feedback for you. You never turned up to the hotel last Saturday I got no text message or message from you on fab to say you could not make it. Now obviously you and I never arranged to meet last Saturday but how would admin know that I lied about you.
The best thing to do is report time wasters. I am sure admin would recognise a pattern and deal with privately it. |

i think some people like to feel people would like to meet them for sex and want to be fancied.
then you get your obvious men posing as a couple
'oh our webcam is broke'
'we will be both on later'
'arranging meet for hubby whilst im away' |

i am always tempted whenever someone complains about "timewasters" to say ..... well how about "due diligence and picking better".....
in a sense it can be that simple, if something is too good to be true.. unfortunately it sometimes is!
if someone is having an issue... look at the way you are doing the picking and choosing... posiibly slow down when it comes to meeting (i tend to find that wont spend time on getting to the stage of meeting if you are slow and make sure you are 120%.... no they are after a quick fix)
also, labelling someone as a timewaster is too easy to do... for example define it? for me.. if i haven't left the house i haven't had my time wasted.... its an easy way of saying "i'm blameless" where in fact the signs were probably there, just spent too much time thinking with cock to notice it.......

"I had to let someone down but I txted asap as the kids were ill and I had to look after them. Real life can get in the way sometimes. Not calling or txting is just rude."
Agree 100% The voice of reason... Why can't some people see that everyday life comes first before swinging??? .... Swinging will always be around families won't. hope your child is better |

i tend to try and get to know someone as much as possible 1st...was let down when i 1st started using fabs as i was just exchanging a handful of messages then organising to meet. ive found the more you get to know someone the less chance of a letdown...you can usually the letdowns out within the first 4 or 5 messages |

I have a way of filtering out the time wasters. I go by their verifications. If they have loads stating 'meeting in person' I will message them. If they have been on here months without verifications then I won't bother with them. Also I wont bother with profiles that have been verified but don't show their verifications. To me verifications show they are meeting other people.
Failing that I usually meet people at clubs where other like minded people go. That was nobody to waste your time |

I hace been timewasted a couple times. First time I arranged to meet a couple in a hotel. Met the bloke at the door, he took me to a room, whilst I waited outside he went back down reception to get his key. I then got a txt saying "sorry, in our room, changed our minds".
Second time it was a no show outside a pub. I think some people bottle it at the last minute and there are teenagers who get a kick out of arranging bogus meets. Timewasters are just very sad people.

"if you have been on this site for some time and never met please do us all a faver and fu*k off "
I fully understand why people would want to try and filter out anything they see as a risk, especially when they are spoilt for choice, and I guess that's the purpose of the verification system. However, before using that particular term on the forum (as opposed to just quietly applying your chosen approach to mail you receive), consider differentiating between the situation you describe and the lowlifes who just think it’s fun not to turn up to meets, or can’t be bothered to cancel properly.
I've been on here for well over a year and, for a variety of reasons, never met anybody. I don't spend every day on the site, and despite being a single male I'm reasonably picky. I've had periods of intense activity at work and I’ve also entered into and left a relationship since joining, during which times I put a clear note on my profile stating that I was not meeting, to avoid people wasting time by trying to contact me. I have met women from other internet sites and I've had some fun chats with ladies on here, but no meets on fab and hence no verifications. I accept that probably puts me at even more of a disadvantage than the average single male on here, but returning to the original jist of the thread, I wouldn't dream of failing to turn up for a meet without a very good reason AND a phone call to apologise.
“Not my problem”, I hear you say, and as long as there are thousands of guys out there with verifications, you’re probably right. But should I still “f*ck off”? By your logic, if I close my account and start again with a new one, I’d suddenly be a worthwhile member again? Verifications are no doubt a useful tool, but they don’t always tell the whole story.
