"Going to Gran Canaria next week, does anyone know if playing in the dunes is still allowed? Heard they had been clamping down recently ?"
Apparently there are wardens patrolling the dunes. Perhaps better to stick to the clubs. |

The area you mean is roped off from the footpaths through it. Didn’t see any wardens on the one day we ventured that far, but apparently fines for going in there are pretty steep - can’t remember the amount though. Didn’t stray off the paths accordingly. |

Call me naive but Google maps took me and my family through the dunes as a shortcut last year.
Jesus Christ I did not expect to see all of that. Didn’t know where to look, and off course being with family it wasn’t really appreciated. I’m sort of glad they’re clamping down on it
For context: we were on an actual path. There were plenty of other tourists too |
