Hi people, I was just wondering, what would be in the first message you receive from somebody that would make you think, hmm I'd like to get to know more? |

Nothing wrong with a simple 'hello', followed by a compliment that shows you have read and understood the persons profile. A little about yourself and the all important pic.
It's not rocket surgery.... |

Different messages work for different people, but like the previous post a sime hello and showing that you've read the profile always helps.
Also try some humour if you can it always breaks the ice  |

Okay well one of this mornings little gems greeting us was
" Hi do you wanna test my cock ?"
This is .... not... a good first message.. this guy got a oneway ticket to the block list... and its better than some at least he said hi at the start.
Hi and little outline about yourself and what you like would be good.. not too detailed though straight away.
When doing this online there are so many messages and choices that you ..will.. be judged on your profile, your pictures and your messages.. and if you if you do not grab attention and appeal in those them you are not getting a second look.

yep instant block.. however i would probably reply first with a short message just to gently explain the possible error of his ways ! After all if he got a kick out of sending such a message then the least we are entitled to is to enjoy the opportunity to point out his error in a polite non confrontational way... and then escort him promptly to the block list..(going directly to block..not passing go and not not collecting £200 on the way and destroying the get out free card) ..... |

nope you didnt do anything but if you _iew profile of show on new list and are clearly not what we are looking for its saves us and you wasting time.
For us you were not old enough unverified(meet in person) can't accom and smoker..so no chance we would meet.. that was all..nothing you did wrong just easier to block when we see a profile not suitable.. We dont meet under 35.. But get so many messages and guys take a chance we are polite then they get shitty because us being polite in their minds means we will play.. so un suitable for us means we use are block list for that thats all.
If we find a guy that does it plus more for us a little lower on age might be considered hence why we removed filter for that... un meet in person verified we would meet socially at a FAB social night only hence why we have now removed that filter.. thats explained for the ones that would come and moan that we should have filters in place..we check profiles of all new local members that show on updates and block way out ones ... |

the content of the message is less important to me.. i look for face pic and the profile and the veris left.. then i look at the message.. some girls might be different.
one advice: try and talk about what the girl wrote in their profile more than who you are.. i always think that men who writes an essay about themselves in a first message are copy and pasting the message and sending it to the other hundreds of women on here.. be nice to get a more personalised message rather than generic copy & paste.. |

That works for me too. I don't care about copy and pasted stuff, I want to know they read my profile. A face pic too. Unless they want to wear a paper bag if we ever did meet in which case I'd like to see the paper bag. |

You could have the best open message ever. It still might not get her attention. Not because they are being snobby. The volume of messages a girl gets on any dating or swinging site is crazy. Men are used to replies once a blue moon and even rarer getting messaged first.
When I first was single I wanted to see what type of messages girls got and what ones stood out for me.
Created pretty much blank profiles with the very minimum amount of information. No of pictures. I had multiple messages in minutes. Inbox was 30 to 40 deep every day. I had more messages to my non existent profile than I've ever had over the lifetime of my real profiles. Was eye opening.
Try it. Set up a blank profile, see how many messages you get.
Then put a pic up. Just average looking woman. Hide the face. Will be crazy the number of messages.
So you have to try and stand out in their inbox somehow. And don't take rejection personally. It will get annoying having to read every message let alone reply. Might get overlooked pretty easy so be patient or send another message a little while later and hope they see it. |
