Picked up 2 X portions last night locally. Price has gone up again and is now £9.10 for a haddock and regular chips.

Whereabouts are you and what's the going rate there??

I’m in the West Midlands and fish (cod/haddock/plaice) is £7.00 and a regular chips is £2.90. That’s if you collect from the shop, if you’re lazy and opt for a delivery it’s around a fiver more.

It’s not a cheap meal anymore.

I paid £10.40 at lunch time from a local chippy, it's gone up a lot over the last year or so and getting to be a luxury now for a lot of folk.

It used to be a cheap meal but its no longer affordable for some.

We had our usual order the other night and it came to £15 for both of us , gone up about £5 ( south east)

£12.90 for a large cod and chips. South West here in Bath.

Now I miss the North East and Yorkshire!
