We have only just got up but we knew what the weather was doing because we have an attic bedroom, so we see it through the velux windows as we rarely close them (except in summer) plus we could hear the rain on the roof

Just rolled out of bed to make coffee. As I looked out if the kitchen window the heavens opened, lightening flashed and thunder rolled. One of our resident foxes was sniffing about in the veg patch and suddenly took off for shelter.

I think it's a day to do indoor activities

I love to listen to the radio but football is probably better on the telly.

I'm going to read a book I bought about the Avebury stone circle, sort my tortoise out, do some household chores , try and fit a walk in between showers, do some sewing and probably watch some telly.

Shredding must be one of the most boring tasks. We have let it build up so we're trying to do ten minutes a day each. After the pile is cleared we have promised a monthly shred...which we both know is not going to happen

Surely not!

Finedon ,

Good morning MOGs.

Normally when it is half term I get lumbered with looking after the Grandkids but this time my Daughter has been kind to me and she is taking time out to look after them.

I can now catch up on the cake making and todays offering is 4 no Irish Brack Tea Loaves, the fruit has been marinading overnight in a heady mix of Earl Grey tea, Dark Brown Sugar and Black treacle.

All that is left is to add Flour and Eggs and bake for 60mins, Job done

Hope you all have a good day.

2 days off work so going through all my stuff for our upcoming naughty holiday in Gran Canaria.

It's that time to see what dresses still fit...

If they don't, it's obvious they have shrunk, for no apparent reason, since last worn and then they are on ebay.

Travel insurance, car hire, inter Island flights but no more Covid stuff but will still print out vaccine certificate, just incase.

I don't go to the gym, I've always really disliked it. I do go to an exercise class though.

I have had a letter from my GP inviting me to participate in a bowel cancer screening programme. I will leave it to your imagination as to what that entails so I’m just waiting for the kit to be delivered. Thank goodness for post strikes!

I've been studying the timetables in preparation. It's not convenient that's for sure and I wouldn't use the bus for long journeys
